Very nice, that's a huge mesh! Looks sweet and probably took less time than a 50 point dive probe mesh haha

How is the bed mounted? Those three "peaks" looks suspiciously like they are from a 3-point mounting system. It's super cool to see a high resolution bed profile though.

Thanks for sharing this demo! I need to get one of these for my 2.4. Not sure if I actually need it as my bed is already extremely flat, but it's so cool...

well you think it's flat...and then you scan it.

@@beaconscanner The docs say beds with integrated magnets won't work, is there any plans to adjust the software to avoid magnets? I have a magbed from mandala roseworks, I would love to try beacon but I do not want to give up that bed, it's beautifully machined.

Damn, what wonderful, geeky excess! (Anything worth doing is worth overdoing, I always say.) That’s crazy how fast it works, do you know what its vertical resolution/accuracy is? It was interesting that there are such localized “bumps” in the surface profile, I wouldn’t have expected that! (New subscriber, a lot of great stuff here!)
@TsukiShimizu Жыл бұрын
Beacon has an resolution of around 0.5um. I've attached one to my printer recently and honestly it's just insane watching it do a full 20x20 bed-mesh on an Ender 3 in like a minute and a half.
@akro9777 Жыл бұрын
dude.. that printer is fucking rad.... beacon aside

The eddie currents would be generated by the outermost metallic surface . if the underlying bed is what it is scanning it's useless since the surface of your carriage is nowhere the same as the spring steel print bed.

Lmao, I thought it'd probe each point like a normal printer :D Like 3 seconds per probing point xD

no its 1000 points in 1 second.

Keep us posted how it works! Wonder if it remains accurate after the chamber gets toasty

It does. I use one when printing PEKK.

bruh... my BLTouch diving for a 5x5 = 25 point system takes about as long as yours does to scan 11,250 points! Cool stuff! 😅

My main tips to speed it up for you are to set "stow_on_each_sample: False" in the bltouch section, and to increase the "speed" value in the BLTouch section too.

Great for metal build plates. Useless for glass. A Lidar module would be great.
@beaconscanner Жыл бұрын
yup. totally useless for non metal surfaces. But printing on metal is like spreading jelly on toast. It's wonderful. You should join us!

@@beaconscanner Can't/won't. Bed temperatures are too high for magnets, and I can't print my materials on PEI. Glass with gluestick is IMO, the best.

@@TheCoffeeSquirel you would be surprised. this is annex engineering k2 (?) and it is an absolute monster of a machine imo - the kinematics style is called crossed xy or croxy for short.
