For a future build you might look into the Spicer 3053A transmission. It was used in some duce and a halfs and other applications. it is a 5 speed with overdrive and only a few inchs longer then an nv4500. also it has the SAE bell housing already and has OD too. Just a heavier duty trans witht the larger input shaft already in it. Only thing is you would have to run a divorced T case.

lol ok thank you iv been all over the place trying to figer it out for the past week and a 1/2 and most of the forums iv been to are no help at all. telling you to mix gas in with it of put some old tires in the back and light them on fire just stuff that will hurt your truck but know real help. thank you again and love the videos

Not with a # 5 fuel plate. Just follow the instructions that comes with the kit. If it has to much smoke turn the star wheel to the drives side. It is easy & safe. Do not get a 0 plate for a stock truck.

You loose bottom end when you bump the timing 1/8. You should buy the dynamic timing advance kit from M&Hinc then you get to keep the bottom end and gain top end. If you have not done any turbo upgrades be careful of EGT & think about getting a pyro hooked up. But ya I would NOT be scared to run 100 hp injectors at all.

No you do not have to pull the motor to install injectors. I am building this motor that is why it was out of the truck.

Yeah......Lol...I've had a bunch of diesels but I just bought this 96 12 valve cummins 5 speed 4x4 for 5 grand and It's nice Im 2nd owner It's all stock and has been really well maintained I was just looking in to building it up a little and threw your videos I've kinda got the whole "just" of the situation What would u recomend? I still want it to get good mpg but have a little power to nothing crazy tho

hey iv got a dum ? for you i have a 96 12 v im trying to get it to smoke. i move the star wheel towards the motor a few turns how many can i go? but still no smoke and i cant find any info on if there's a smoke screw is that the only thing i can do. i dont really want to do the fuel plat till i get a pyro gauges

So the better option would be to install a P7100 pump? It just seems like no matter what modification a person put towards an engine it seems like a better idea to install the beffy P-pump.

Smoke at startup could be from valve seals letting oil drip into the cylinder overnight, injectors dripping fuel overnight, or just cold temperature. My Cummins will smoke out the entire neighborhood when I start it on a cold morning. Fuel plates are fairly easy to install. You might want to move the air horn out of the way so you can reach the AFC housing tho. And the AFC housing has a bolt on there that you either have to break off or cut a groove into it and back it out with a flat head.

Buy the fuel plate & that will take care of that. Turning the star wheel with a stock fuel plate will not help any at all.

Hey diesel stop, i dont mean to sound like a complete idiot, but i dont know to much about this motor, and iv got two questions i was hoping you could answer, number one, when i have to floor it or when it just starts, i get clouds of whiteish blue smoke, is that worn injectors letting oil in? And my other question, is it hard to put a new fuel plate in? i havent searched for videos on it yet im about to, but thanks!

Bad idea to grind a fuel plate. They are cheap on ebay and you can get plates from 12 to 0 & ir comes with the boost elbow that would need to be upgraded for the p-7100 injection pump,,,,This pump in this video is a VE so no plate only a fuel pin. So get that from M&Hinc on the web.
