I remember Sareena in MKA very well, even in the Single Player modes you could already see how strong she was with how she could throw her knives 4 times in a row and get a full screen combo off of them. She was powerful indeed.

Funny thing is, Sareena was only playable in 2 games...she plays completely differently in each of them and she's arguably the best character in both games lol, one of them is Armageddon, the other is Tournament Edition, which is a port of Deadly Alliance on the GBA, in Tournament Edition, what makes her so strong is primarily her weapon moves, which work as special moves in that game.

@@PNDKM I KNEW IT. I've been saying this same thing to myself for months since I found this (amazing) channel. I've basically obsessed over MK my entire life (born '93) & I literally never knew the extra characters in Gold existed until K&M mentioned them on a video, & it was one of those thing where at first I didnt notice, like my brain went "oh, yeah duh, Sektor was in 4", but then like 3 minutes later I suddenly went "Waaaaaait a second..." lol. So yes, i have been waiting for this video!

If Sareena returns in MK12, her teleport knife glitch should be a regular special move. I like when glitches and bugs became official special/super moves in later games. As someone said, 'sometimes the best inventions came for an accident' Like the combos in Street Fighter 2

Yeah, a ton of stuff in the MK series dating back to the very first game have been based on glitches/rumors/some sort of easter egg. That's one of the main reasons I love MK so much :) (also Resident Evil)

@@jojoversus1100 Johnny Cage's triple head decap in MK2 was based on a glitch in MK1 that allowed players to knock off multiple heads. His Red Shadow Kick in later games was based on an easter egg in MK2 were he would sometimes perform it. Of course we know that Ermac, Skarlet, and Animailities were based on popular rumors.

Nitpick: sf2 combos weren't a glitch. Special cancels were. Jump in > sweep was 100% intended to combo; otherwise it would have worked like in sf1 where you can't hit someone in hitstun

I played MKA when I was young with zero knowledge of tier lists or high level play, even I could tell that Sareena was so overpowered in that game. Her knife toss was ridiculous. She was my favourite in that game though, I wish they'd bring her back as she's a really cool and underrated character.

The 3d games are this bizarre anomaly for me, because I had them, I played them a lot. But at the very same time, I know so very little about them, like who's "really" good, (as in on a competitive level) as a result, whenever you talk about those games, it's just....really intriguing because it puts the spotlight on an aspect I never knew about.

MK:Armageddon came out around 2007. I was there in the online community from 2009-2011/2012. And let me tell you, as bad as Serena was, nearly every other character and created character was just as bad or worse. It was fun at times, but it was way too toxic for ones health to stay on there for too long. The place was a salt mine. It was a broken mess, but when things went well it was a pretty fun game, it’s just that no one had any integrity. If you got caught in an infinite or they abused a super broken move on you or a glitch, they’ll just say it was your fault for getting caught and to stop crying. If you wanted to succeed in ranked matches or the leader boards you needed to join the dark side and abuse all the broken stuff. I tried not to play like that, and I was pretty damn good, even got the attention of a solid clan who asked me to join them called DS and another called RCW I think. There were a bunch of others that came and went but during my time there I think DS was the top clan. And then ofcourse there were hackers that started coming in the later part of the games life cycle who ruled the players like tyrants. Say anything they don’t like they freeze your game and boot you from the room, sometimes they would do it anyway just for the troll. It was bad folks. Though I do wish they could do another 3D MK. In today’s gaming environment, they’ll probably patch any broken nonsense ASAP., cuz it was a different era back then, no such thing as patches for the PS2.

MK vs DC is just so interesting as an almost “vagabond” title within the series, even though it created one of netherealm’s most successful franchises, and continued Mortal Kombat as it is now. It’s important to the history at least. Also most people don’t know about the competitive scene, which I was a fan of back in the day.

I remember that Dairou was very broken in MK Deception that he was nerfed in the GameCube port and in MK Unchained. Anyway, good to see info about MKvsDC A guilty pleasure for me. It had great costumes for the MK cast. Like for example Liu Kang, Kitana and Sub Zero

Yay, more Mortal Kondiments. I think it's disappointing we never got an 'Ultimate MK Trilogy', with bugfixes, both Chameleons and adding the rest of the MK1/2 incarnations of the roster.
