Weather , friendly people , cheap food, cost of living , no stupid excessive electricity / water costs , good transportation, also yes Thailand has seasons too , but it’s not quite like the 4 seasons in the uk. Being here 7 months , & petty maybe, buts lots of plastic bags getting food / fruit and when walking around lack of litter bins 🚮 , & bad footpaths 😅

I'm constantly amazed. And grateful. Driving: Every intersection is a right-of-way free for all. I choose to embrace it. BTW, have you ever seen a Thai moto rider sprain their neck checking for traffic before turning left or right onto a road while ignoring a stop sign? Sak yant tats and amulets work! Littering: I once saw a Boy Scout throw trash out of the back of a school songtheaw. Nuff said.

I can't argue with your positives. The bonus bit at the end about littering is something that really rubs me up, driving standard is something I always moan about to Fon when we are out in the car, even she says the Eff word now.....of course the effing and blinding is confined to our car and giving the finger of disapproval is a no, no, for obvious reasons. One thing that's really annoying is, waiting at a T junction, a car or bike comes from the right and I assume they are going straight on, only to find they turn left without indicating...mind you indicators are no indicator here anyway and mirrors are for show only...haha. The farms looking great, water sure is the magic ingredient.

Yes… the littering and leaving debris around forever irritates me, especially when I see it at village community forests ( the locals think the forest is for “ghosts” & a dumping grounds) and at some Wats. Thousands of baht are spent on a beautiful statue or temple; yet, construction debris, energy drink bottles will be laying around. No one seems to notice it at some of these village wat grounds. Your 5 positive things I agree with. Patience will make the stay even more enjoyable.

One of the things I don't like is the length of the day, I love the long day's we get in the U.K in June when its still light at nearly 22:30 but you don't get that in Thailand with it being so close to the equator it's pretty much dark by 19:00 all year round and its a very rapid transition from day to night there as well. Its far from a deal breaker for me just my 2 pence worth.

I used to think the same as you about Thai drivers flashing headlights, but checking the UK Highway code, it states "Only flash your headlights to let other road users know that you are there. Do not flash your headlights to convey any other message or intimidate other road users". So Thai drivers actually use the signal correctly and when we flash people in the UK to let them pull out, it's technically wrong.

Great positive video mate, I agree with your points. Definitely the lack of "red tape" here, it's ridiculous back home. The littering does bug me heaps, I tend to clean our yard and road outside our hope often. same in australia for common headlight flashing, used to let people out or into driveways/intersections, and sometimes used to warn of police down the road/cars not having their headlights on. (all of which you can technically get fined for). the only legal situation is to flash to let someone know you are there and about to overtake them at least in my state of NSW. also, ill eat all the spicy som tum in the world thank you hahhahah. the littering will really irk me, thats something i didnt consider.

@LifeinThailand777 Жыл бұрын
We dug it straight after the bad floods last October, as a sort of prevention in case it happened again. We’ve had less rain this season so far, so I think it’s probably just that. Once the build is complete we will distribute some water to that side of the land and help fill it up. Another option we have is to join the empty canal to the ponds that sit at the end of it. We will wait to see how this rainy season plays out first though 🙏

Most construction workers in Thailand are foreigners who live next to Thailand. And they tend to litter like this. Thai people do not like to do work that uses this type of labor. When I build a house with foreign workers, I often encounter garbage like this. Thai people have both good and bad people. Driving in Thailand If he wants you to go, he will slow down. But if he hits the flashing light quickly That is, he signaled that he wanted to hurry over. You don't come out.
