This year,I went to Fujii Kaze and One Ok Rock concert. Both are sooooo good. I danced and sang throughout the concert. Honestly I was blown away by Fujii Kaze’s piano. He played some songs with only piano and his voice. He captivated whole audience without any band. He is truly genius.

As a huge fan of Fujii Kaze, you are right on the money. Kaze is such a talented composer, pianist and singer. He also markets himself as you said. His recent release of Golden hour (Remix) with JVKE should help. Currently, the some of the tickets of Asia tour went for sale and they were sold out within minutes! I can not wait to see him here in the US. About your video, I think you are so knowledgeable, well prepared and delivered precisely, clearly at good pace. Good luck with your channel.

Impressive. Thank you. Excellent marketing strategy... I agree with your analysis and decision to add Fujii Kaze on your list. I have trying to put my finger on the reason why he was important to me. Then recently I had an 'Ah ha' moment... he made me see Japan again. I drive a Nissan, but that was my only involvement in Japan. Now I'm researching Japanese history, listening to other artists... even though I like Japanese anime and the artists who made me want to know who they were... Fujii Kaze made me really see Japan. I didn't know who Vaundy was until Fujii sang one of his songs. Because of him I was introduce to SWV's song, Weak. I love Fujii's cover of Lizzo's Good as Hell! Best wishes to you and your career.

though some of your opinions might not align with mine, this is still a great video. i'm surprised you didn't include Kenshi Yonezu in this list, LiSA even.

Huh. Yaffle, the last name on the list, is Kaze's producer. He's a pretty big name now in the Japanese music production/sound engineering scene but as a composer/artist (albeit one that doesn't sing, which i noticed a bunch from the Billboard list don't either) he's still very obscure. So I'm surprised he made the list. But it also looks like the list is comprised mostly of non-mainstream artists so maybe the names are more deliberate shot-in-the-dark kind of choices. NaN-NaNw and Shinunoga are both sick af but they only sit at #8 and #12 respectively on my personal Kaze chart. Everything the guy has churned out so far are bangers so he's the only artist I like who's every song has a rank, and I'm telling ya, ranking them was the furthest thing from easy. From your list, I feel some artists you named each have different potential when it comes to int'l success. Ado probably has the biggest potential within the sphere of anime and video games. But the international market for that is huge so she could very well be the artist who'll have the most overall success. She's already oretty much on track for it. Vaundy, if he ever decides to get serious about marketing himself internationally, has the most potential as a jpop artist beyond simply the anime sphere (tho i dont think he'll beat Ado within the anime sphere itself) known for jpop specifically. Lastly, Kaze probably wont make too big of a wave within the anime and gaming crowd (other than the few who also listen to jpop outside of anime and would keep wishing for his songs to become anisongs) but he has the potential to go beyond simply the international jpop market. Meaning, while I feel Vaundy and perhaps Ado have bigger potential among international fans of Jpop, especially ones who enjoy anisongs, Kaze has the potential to tap beyond that into a market that has a wider age demographic and who may not be in the habit of listening to non-western music, giving listeners sounds they are used to while at the same time exposing them to something completely new. Because his appeal does not lie in simply his music, but in his lyrics as well. Anyway, nice analysis. Appreciate your perspective.

Yoasobi and ado have more in common than some may realise. Their music is rooted the 2010s vocaloid scene, hence why you get the darker or edgier lyrics

Kaze is a great pianist too and I used to listen to one ok rock especially earlier days when they had much more j rock vibes before they started American pop sound. The last time I saw them played was in LA about 5 yrs ago right after their planned world tour with Linkin Park was cancelled because Chester had passed away... It was sad that I heard Taka was influenced by Chester so much when he's young

One Ok Rock deserves more credit. Their 2019 album sounds like Imagine Dragons junior, however their 2015-17 stuff is closer to 2000s pop-punk and everythiing before that is legit some of the best j-rock I've heard. Their 2022 album is great too.
