Best inexpensive purchase recently is Solinotes’ Tonka (the EDP). $20 for a fantastic , interesting fragrance-it’s a spicy, sweet gem with more notes than the tonka that’s listed on Fragrantica. Not bad lasting power for me at 4-5 hours. Would love to see this video again with a focus on unisex or feminine-marketed fragrances, Sebastian-I so appreciate your recommendations. 😊

Thanks for the recommendations. I still think that "Lalique Pour Homme EDP" (w/ the lion's head) is possibly the best inexpensive fragrance. I can like "Jaguar for Men", but I shouldn't spray it too close to my nose because there's something in it which can make me feel somewhat nauseous. I still like it though: it's not bad, I got mine for about $12, and I can appreciate a classic-style fragrance like that.

Lattafa Maahir Black Edition is an amazing bargain for $20. It’s a high quality smoky leather fragrance with a nice dark/gothic edge to it. Great bottle as well. Amazing they can charge so little for such a niche quality fragrance.

Just got Ajmal Verde last month......BIG love ! I love galbanum !!!! I also LOVE TF Noir Anthracite !! That Martina Maserati is on my want list. I am still curious about Victorinox Black Steel ....forgot about it ! Now...Victorinox Rock sounds very interesting too. I enjoy scents by Quentin Biche. I have the newer Jaguar Oud...which is actually not bad....but I still want to grab Jaguar for Men.....in the dark green bottle......I have slept on that one....and you can get it for like $12-$15.

I went to Marshalls store ,I see this bottle with the name of blacstone ( bourbon & oak) and it was very familiar…got home and I started sniffing the ones I think they resemble…it was diptyque eau de minthe…very,very close aroma…so I don’t know we’re they get the bourbon and oak..but it’s all minthe lol…yes I did buy it..

Not tried the Jaguar Classic but have Classic black and the red and quite like both, especially at the price. Jaguar for men Oud is another nice cheap almost fruity oud that works well too and my son loves the Jaguar blue one that is a bit like Aventus. Got the Ajmal Verde as well and think that is amazing for the price.

I'm putting a hold on new purchases for a while as I'm heading...finally...back to Eastern Europe after a turbulent traumatic year because of the war. But if I were in shopping mode right now I'd definitely look into Victorinox Rock because Victorinox completely conquered me with Black Steel. In my two years or so at this, very much under your tutelage, I seem to have settled into two broad categories of fragrance: one is (office-)safe, year-round, signature-worthy (though I'll never really do "signature", because I just love variety too much), super-versatile yet plenty of unique character to it--in that kind of class go things like Black Steel, Bentley Momentum Unbreakable, Mont Blanc Explorer, Lalique Hommage a l'Homme, maybe even Guerlain Heritage (my Sunday-go-to-meeting scent). And the other category is the "quirky" one, the kind with something a little scary, off-beat, challenging, definitely not for every day but perfect when the mood hits--in that kind of class go things like CdG Rouge, Geoffrey Beene Grey Flannel, Oriza L. LeGrand Chypre Mousse, Tauer Incense Rose (wild about this one), Rogue Mousse Illuminee, et al. Oh, and of course Encre Noire. If there's a third category, for me, it would be defined by scents like L'Eau Mixte, CdG Marseille, Xerjoff Torino 2021, Mauboussin M Generation, et al. The only two fragrances I've ever bought backups of so far, just because I wanted to make absolutely sure I had some "extra" if they're discontinued, are CdG Rouge and Momentum Unbreakable. The latter has a vague redolence of dill, evoking pickles, but I can't say I find it unappealing; it's just subtle enough to work!

These types of videos are very tempting but even with highly praised cheapies, there seems in my experience to be a bit of remorse a few weeks in. Subpar performance, synthetic dry downs, alcoholic openings, "thin" smelling and so on. But the first EDP is interesting... We'll see

I would add a few Zara suggestions: Amalfi Sunray, Vetiver Pamplemousse, and Fleur d’Oranger. 19-69’s Capri is more expensive, but it’s all about orange-it’s a fave of mine.

Have you tried Wood from that same Victorinox line? Parfumo lists walnut wood and tree moss absolute in the notes as well as Yann Vasnier as one of the perfumers ala TF fame. Would be interesting to have a sniff. But if we're talking car brands other than Bentley (ps, if you can find Rich Pimento, that'd be killer), Lamborghini's Millenials really ain't bad! Fruity-spicy-leather on the cheap. Also recently picked up Santana Bay from Bogart...wow did they ever go for La Nuit de L'homme. 😄 It's actually really quite nice.
