That's awesome! Have you ever tried milling a helix on the 5th axis? Something I'm trying to figure out is how to program a helix ramp on the end of a round part with the part sitting parallel to the table. Havn't been able to find any you-tube videos that cover this. it would look something like this.

Awesome tutorial! Gonna see if my schools shop has a trunnion table of some sort. I think we just have a half dozen HRT210 rotary's and a couple ST20Y lathes. Keep up the great videos!

24:20 if you want the tool to go for example from left to right, you have to click the left half of the line and it will generate the toolpath from left to right.

I think G54 should be at the center of rotation of the rotary table otherwise it will not compensate Z . We have Haas rotary TR 210 and when we have z at top face then fusion post processor ( Haas trunnions) doesn’t compensate x,y, z . Can you clarify ? Love to learn from you.
@TITANSofCNC
@TITANSofCNC 7 жыл бұрын
The new Haas controls have dynamic offsetting. So you can place your Zero in one place... and then rotate the part and it will always know where its at. Older machines or trunnion's would need to be programmed (3+2) so you have a separate fixture offset on each side... or center of rotation as you suggested.

15:48 could you not just have used a pattern and revolve the one toolpath around instead of making two lines?
@TITANSofCNC

I could and did on the second tool... I just wanted to show both styles so people got it. This was a simple version to teach fundamentals.
