Thanks for all the info! Edtech sounds pretty cool. FYI: Reddit isn't doing the giveaway in the same way this year. They are doing it through Donors Choose.

Totally helpful. Thank you so much. Definitely stressed for the new school year. This year teachers at my school won't find out which classes they are teaching until five days before school starts. If I end up teaching a subject I haven't taught before, I'm going to have a ton of work. Mostly learning a new curriculum and new set of standards in a very short amount of time and creating lessons/assessments to go with them. At least this year I'm not switching classrooms, so there won't be as much set up and figuring out stations to do.

That's so stressful! And it happens so often. The past 3 years I have had my schedule and courses completely switched two weeks into the school year, ugh!

Great video! Also, have you ever heard of the blogger Teaching Sam and Scout? She's a high school teacher and a mom of two young kids (including a one year old) and she talks about being a teacher and a mommy. She's very real about the struggles, but she also talks extensively about the many positives to being a working mom! I hope it helps!

I am a mother of two boys that are just started Kindergarten and Middle school. I have been a stay at home mom for 11 years now and I'm starting to substitute for their schools. Can you give me any advice for how you would like your substitute to run your class? Can I bring my own worksheets and school/learning materials for down time? I know it has to be learning related according to the grade level but are you wanting subs to stick to your schedule? Thank You so much!!!! I love your videos!😊

I definitely need to make an updated sub advice video! I'll get on it for you!

Found this vid so interesting, even though we're currently in the middle of our school year! Do you find textbooks limiting or find it reassuring that everyone is working on the same text? Almost all our learning is inquiry based so we don't really use text books at all... It would be so different!

I rarely use them just because there are so many other resources available now!

Thanks for sharing this video. Really useful information was presented. To create my lesson plans I use planbook.com. it has helped me a great deal in that if I don't finish all lessons for the week I can just move them to the next week. I like many others are still waiting on the final word as to what grade I will be teaching but I can go ahead and create my syllabus and add information as I need to. I can also plan for the first week of school as well.
