Regarding time management, Zoe, I prioritise learning and the creative process by waking up early. I need to start work at 7.30 each day so I set my alarm for 4.30am. This way I can devote my energy to language learning, saxophone/guitar/hanzi practice, and other pursuits BEFORE going to work. After work, I am always too tired to learn/practice and just want to 'lunch out' watching movies/relaxing so I go to bed early knowing I have that special 'me time' to look forward to. Please keep the videos coming! 😃

This is a very helpful video. I'm an advanced Spanish and intermediate French speaker. But lately I've felt I haven't been making much headway in either language and that I've reached a plateau. Thanks for the tips. I look forward to implementing them.

Hello Zoe, I am enjoying your videos immensely. I'm studying Turkish and alas Lingopie doesn't have it yet. But I already found several points that you mention which are hindering my progress : - wanting to learn too many new words a day ( indeed I don't remember as much as I thought I would), - not doing this "passive listening" 25% of your total routine in the form of a podcast or other, which made me realize that when I see Turkish shows, I read the subtitles! So I'm switching to a little watching without subtitles, which will improve my listening and my level of attention. - being part of the "studying on my own" group: you're right, it's difficult to hold oneself really accountable. I'm fluent in English, French and Spanish and it occurred to me that I could do this exchange of conversations that you advocate in another video. I had never thought of that (I'm older and sometimes progress passes me by😁) so I'm looking forward to be able to help a Turkish speaking person speak in the languages they are learning and get this all important immersion in return. I'm not quite there yet, but soon. Teşekkür ederim : Thank you!

Excellent video. I have been trying to learn Spanish for over a year but I always get too busy to focus more on my learning. Technology makes it hard also when you can use it to give you the answer instead of having to memorize it . Discipline helps along with having a friend who speaks the language that you wish to learn

Bonjour Zoe. 😉😄😁

Hello Zoe, it is very interesting to learn languages, I have had the opportunity to learn English and French, at the moment I am learning Chinese, as a Spanish speaker it is very difficult for us to speak a language totally different from Spanish, so learning will take much longer that a language close to Spanish, since there are no face-to-face Chinese schools where I live, you have to take classes online, which is a little more difficult and being Chinese, which is a tonal language, what do you think, when you learn a language language per line and it is not that close to your native language.

If I may ask, could you make a video on one of the best free apps to learn languages in general? I'd want to hear your opinion as you have a ton of personal experience in multiple languages. I'm trying to teach myself Japanese history on my down time, I have learned some parts of the language like most pronunciations to it and some of the tones, but I obviously wouldn't say I'm becoming expert yet. When I get to the language part of it I'd like to prepare myself with free apps in my best interest by a person like you that again has ton of experience with almost 10 different languages. (Which is insane btw good for you for getting that far I'm honestly imprssed by that.)

Zoe hanım dediklerinize katılıyorum.Bende uygulamalar ( duolingo, memrise, cake, voscreen) üzerinde mevcut seviyemi koruyorum.
