Many people claim that Hindu/Central asian influence more in the fashion. To me, I see both influencing the fashion, sure it has similarities but it also have elements from central asia. So lets not fight over which side influences more.

I’m a huge Cdrama fan. When I used to watch historical fantasy dramas or Xianxias, I was amazed by how similar the hand ornaments or Maagtikka looked exactly like the Indian jewelleries. Mostly the Goddesses wear these in the dramas.

Chinese today thinking it is not related anywhere to Bharat (India) don't look India with today's lens. India was a great place to study and was a giant in terms of GDP as well. We have declined a lot in past 1000 years due to invasions but we were good and noble back in the days.

In the ancient times, China only considered two regions to be "civilized", its Bharat ie INDIA & themselves(China). The Japanese wanted to add themselves to that part so they called it Sango/Sanko. Bharat is the land of Buddha, which was specifically exported by Ashoka the Gupta Emperor of undivided modern Bharat ie INDIA to the South East Asia, China & Japan. Then there is Bodhidharma, he was from south of Bharat ie INDIA, was a semi-legendary Buddhist monk who lived during the 5th or 6th century CE. He is traditionally credited as the transmitter of Chan Buddhism to China, and is regarded as its first Chinese patriarch. SO Bharat contributed a LOT to China & Japan. It was referred to as the LAND of GODS by the Chinese. So much so that China WENT TO WAR with Xinjiang to The word used in Japan to refer to the civilized regions during ancient times is most likely **"Sanbyaku" (三藐, さんびゃく)**. Here's the breakdown: * **San (三):** means "three" * **byaku (藐):** can have various meanings, but in this context, it signifies "remote" or "distant." **Combined meaning:** Sanbyaku translates to "Three Distant Lands" or "Three Remote Lands." **Historical Context:** During ancient times, Japan looked towards China and other parts of Asia for cultural and political influence. The term Sanbyaku specifically referred to the following three regions considered to be the most civilized: 1. **China:** The center of cultural and political influence in East Asia for centuries. 2. **India:** Known for its rich philosophical and religious traditions. 3. **Korea:** A cultural and technological bridge between China and Japan. **Importance:** The concept of Sanbyaku reflects the historical development of Japanese culture, highlighting the significant influence these regions had on Japan's early society.

Chinese culture is a culture of ethnic genocide due to the Yi-Sen Revolution. This is proof that successive dynasties were of different ethnic groups, and the culture of each dynasty has almost been lost. You can understand this by looking at the current Chinese communist dynasty.

Its very similar to what we Hindus have been wearing since some 5k-6k years ago, as evident in our temple carvings, literature and frescoes as well. In fact, we still wear like this today, while doing our worship ceremonies. Saree, Antariya, Angvastra, lehenga/Ghagra are Hindu traditional clothes and Hindu women have worn flowers and gold/silver/bronze ornaments on hairdos and bodies along with Hindu men for aeons. Hindu men also customarily wear much gold, thankfully its getting a resurgence in the coming Hindu genz as we become aware of our ancestors and throw away our veils( the ones that extreme Northern Hindu women wear) into the gutter. No need to follow tribal backward culture which isn't ours. We traditionally never covered our heads at all, unlike rest cultures. It could be joint influence of Early Hinduism and Buddhism at best. We Hindus still follow the 16 traditional adornments of Hindu women and women, the ladies at dunhuang look like Apsaras who are Hindu celestial nymphs appropriated by Jain and then Buddhists some 2500 years ago.

I see Indians arguing in the comments section. This is because Dunhuang is located at the crossroads of the Silk Road, which coincides with the historical period when Buddhism was officially introduced to China. That's why Buddhist costumes appear on the murals. But Dunhuang culture was the result of exchanges between Buddhism, Confucianism, Taoism, economics, and the state. But in the thousands of years since, the cultural turnover at Dunhuang has long since changed. In China, Confucianism and Taoism have been deeply embedded for more than 2,000 years. They have dominated dynastic thought. Buddhism, on the contrary, went through several purges in ancient China, and could only be deeply bound to Confucianism and Taoism, and the three religions were united. Today 90% of the Chinese are atheists, and the Chinese still study Confucianism.
