Hey there! I clicked on the link there to listen to the Andrew Jervis podcast, and I don't see it there. It's possible I could be totally blind... I will continue to look for it.

The adding personality thing is something I really needed to hear. I never say much about my work, whether music or my graphic art, because I never think people would care about what I'm doing. But you make a good point about the liner notes. I obsessively went through the liner notes when I was younger and tried to find anything I could about the bands I liked, especially in the days when a lot less was on the internet to look at.

Hi Scott. Great video here! I see some recent posts and answers so here I go. Is there a way to CHANGE the NAME of an existing button? Specifically the "BUY DIGITAL ALBUM" button. Because I'm not selling a "DIGITAL ALBUM". I'm selling 3 versions of the SAME SONG. So as a buyer I think that TITLE is confusing. A better title would be BUY PACKAGE. Or BUY SONG PACKAGE. Any ideas how to make that happen? Thanks for posting!
@OtherRecordLabels2 жыл бұрын
Hi Paul, sorry I missed this. I don't believe you can change things like that on Bandcamp, unfortunately, but I guess they prefer to use the same language across the board. Thanks for the question -Scott

Another question , I already released my album on January and the sales were great and I had couple gigs (you know covid thing) and my fans bough a good amount of digital copies but then on February the sales decrease. Now, my best sales were by personalize sales, meaning I email, texted , social media privet messages, but just posting doesn't work, or just sending mass emails. Is there any tips for someone who already release an album and wants to keep this rolling? I mean there are a lot of good pointers in these video but it seems more related to pre releases. Thank you!

Give away download codes(on bandcamp) means give away with gift cards? At last minute I sent my album to a radio station and I sent it to the dj and I paid 7 bucks but then I recover 5 plus as sales, but there is a way that I can send it without me paying for it? that was actually a few days ago. Thank you
@tidalwave_music4 жыл бұрын
Should you sell your music on there, or just offer it for free in exchange of email?
@OtherRecordLabels4 жыл бұрын
Great question, I think you can do both based on the type of release. A proper studio album I would sell (but probably for a more modest price of ~$5) but then for EPS, singles, or special projects like acoustic records/remixes/live recordings/demos you can offer them free, but with the option to allow them to pay more (as they often do). I am in the process now of debating whether to do an upcoming album free entirely or free with email required. I would like their emails, but I don’t want to scare people off from downloading. Thanks again for the comment! -Scott

how would you submit music via email that hasn't been released yet? would you just send them an mp3. Then how would they know its the same song once its released
@OtherRecordLabels3 жыл бұрын
Are you talking about sending to Bandcamp Editorial team? As a tip, I would never send MP3s to anyone as they never like that and it clogs up their inbox. Instead send private SoundCloud links. As for Bandcamp, you would need to upload the album to Bandcamp as a proper release with artwork, etc. But set the album/release to private and don’t “publish” it to the public. Then send this link (copy from browser). They have the ability to access an album that isn’t visible to the public! Hope that helps! - scott

Hey, I’m uploading my music to Bandcamp for about a month, and I have 1 play so far. I’ve read artist guide, but it doesn’t help much, because I don’t have fan base, or social media. I’ve read about tags, and tried it, nothing helps. Actually I couldn’t even find my tracks, when I put in search by location. Could You please take a minute and give me some guidance?
@OtherRecordLabels4 жыл бұрын
Sorry to hear that Natty! It’s a tough game to play but you have to stick with it. You have to keep writing and being prolific and adding to your catalog. That’s what I’ve noticed has worked best for artists... Hope that helps and keep at it! -Scott
