Great video! I figured all these out after a couple years of working with Twinmotion. This a great intro vid to get beginners started! A couple of my big pointers are also to set your location and North orientation to your site to get accurate sunlight, and to be careful with the material scaling and orientation.

IMPORTANT! The Normal Map DOES NOT work right if you just drop it in Twinmotion! It's fascinating how even the developers of Twimotion and the people at Quixel fail to make clear that you absolutely have to invert the green channel of the normal map. The Unreal Engine uses DirectX and the normal maps from Quixel are for OpenGL programs. Usually you have a plugin for your rendering software and this plugin automatically inverts the channel of the normal map if needed. However Twinmotion has no plugin for Quixel so you have to invert the green channel manually.
@Moochers4 жыл бұрын
Wow I didn't know that! How did you learn this? Thanks for sharing btw!
@MeikzZz4 жыл бұрын
@@Moochers I am using TM since 2019 heavily and after loading a surface called "Studded leather" I noticed that the shadows that the normal map creates are inverted and the whole material looks like its turned inside out. That was when I started to do some research and figured this out. ou can try this too. If you search for "Studded Leather" in Megascans you'll find only one.

Loved the vid Mooch! Btw, one thing I notice from this vid is every time you say "Another mistake..." you immediately show the "answer" to the mistake which makes it kinda confusing at first because I thought "Efficiently Placing Trees" is THE mistake when it's actually the SOLUTION to the mistake. Other than that, the video brings so much value. Cheers!

Great video for a TM-beginner as me. It looks like you got your model in a twinmotion landscape to start with. How did you do to paint grass and trees on that? Cannot get it working, and it seems so much more intuitive to work with landscape in Twinmotion than having to create a landscape in Revit (which is my software) and importing it.

Don't buy anything if you don't need it. Most importantly, learn how to solve problems without asking for a person for help; refine that Google-fu. Good luck. Architecture is fun, I swear

what I always suffer from is twinmotions crashes. Not evenwhile rendering but when synchronizing with rhino 7. Also the autosaving files are sometimes corrupted and IF the program crashes while saving the old file is corrupted or damaged as well and Im missing fragments of the model or objects/ materials that I added in the last steps. When synchronizing again it says cant recognize the model so if I then force sync I can basically start all over again... this happens too often Im wasting tons of time on it. Anyone experiencing the same?
