I agree with everything you said about Richmond, but driving through it is a nightmare. There are so many potholes and ditches. There are extra taxes to dine and real estate taxes are higher.

Thanks for the feedback! I just did a new video on 9 reasons why people choose to LEAVE Richmond, and taxes was one of the main points. I haven't had as much trouble with potholes...I live near Forest Hill Park (Southside) where the city has just repaved all the streets in my neighborhood. 🙂

Understand that a realtor gets part of your realtor commission when they refer you. The industry is very corrupt. The lawsuit has not taught the field anything. They still expect buyers to assure them 2.5 to 3 percent after the new buyer agreements go into effect. Homes unaffordability is greatly impacted by the industry greed. You don't get anything for allowing a realtor to give you a referral. These are simply a way to sell another realtor you as a client. So crazy. Then your ability to negotiate with a buyer agent is reduced because they are paying the referral agent..lol. corruption at it's finest.

Thanks for making time to share this input. Sounds like you might have had some bad experiences with agents in the past -- sorry if that's the case. When I refer a friend or family member to an agent in another area, I'm trying to insure they get someone who can serve them with excellence. (As you know, just having a license doesn't make a good agent.) Because the agent on the other end doesn't have to pay the normal marketing expenses to acquire this new lead, it's reasonable for me to receive a referral fee. At least that's how I see it! @shaunward3711 no, it is unethical practice in many fields. ..so much so that you would lose your license in most professions. Remember that a realtor is sales and has sales as their main objective. Many professions are service and that is different. Client centered means that the client's interest is first...not the provider making money. People should not be for sale.

I couldn’t agree more with you Shawn being a buyer and being a seller has taught me all about the greed. It is so unfortunate that when you sell your house, you have to pay the 3% to a realtor on both sides. It’s absolutely sickening especially in today’s market not to mention you turn around and decide to buy a house again and have to pay a realtor, it’s corrupt that the market is so crazy right now with median homes trying to purchase a home and yet the 3% is given to the realtor not by the buyer but by the seller but still it’s absolutely crazy on both sides so I totally get your point. That is why I typically like to deal with realtors that give their buyers at least 1% back to help them purchase appliances or something when they first get in the house as we know purchasing a home comes with so many expenses yet it’s an investment if you do it the right way.

@@shaprinash7327 The real estate world has definitely been crazy for the past few years. I assume you're aware of the big settlement the National Association of Realtors made this spring? It explicitly states that sellers have no obligation to pay the commission for a buyer's agent. That ruling has triggered a lot of self-examination and change in the real estate world.
