Krytox is the industry standard for baseline rejuvenation and maintenance of internal seals and youre right, its not good for outside in great respect. Great video thank you. Glad you went into this.

Thanks for one of the only “rubber specific” product reviews ! It really helps to hear your common sense assessment.

This was excellent. I was trying to decide between all these options people mentioned on the forums. Thank you very much for doing this comparison and posting it!

303 blocks the UV rays that ultimately damage rubber/plastic/leather at a molecular level. I have used it every month on my wipers and they are still good after 4 years.
@whitegoodman74655 ай бұрын
303 does not block UV rays. That's all marketing nonsense. Its physically and chemically impossible for a nanometer thin layer of anything including paint coatings to reject or absorb and dissapate UV rays. It's been proven time and time again yet people still gloat about 303 protectant for 20 yrs now..I don't get it.

instead of silicone that has a grease i'm thinking you can also use silicone oil that is used for tredmails
@DavidJonesOpalImages10 ай бұрын
I think we mentioned in the video that silicon oil works but is very difficult to control. It can get all over and is difficult to get off of seats, inside door panels, paint, windows, etc. Many of the products reviewed are recommended by the auto manufacturers for a reason. And with the oil you still have to do a final wipe down after it has set for a while just like with the thicker ones.

Local Honda dealers usually keep it in stock if Amazon has none. Might be a little more expensive but you could get it quick.

When you apply it to the door seals for overnight, is it ok to close the doors & wipe it down the next morning? What i'm asking is, will it mess up the surrounding paint?

A useful and important experiment for safety. It seems that silicone grease is the safest for rubber or plastic?

Useful information. It seems that silicone grease is safe for rubber and plastic. But as a grease it can attract dust or grit

Excellent information, thank you... I have a question. The exterior rubber (or whatever it's made of) weather seal on my back window (25 year old Lincoln Mark VIII) has a couple inch or two areas where it's kind of worn looking, it sort of looks like it has a dry rash with small pock mark craters and such. Is there a way to fill that and smooth it out before I put on the silicone? Much appreciate any advice you can give.

I used krytox on my folding tin top roof seals caused it to leaked like a sieve' cleaned it off and used gummi pflege and it cured the leaks' so that's what i use plus its easy to use and quick to put on.

11:40 dilute alcohol with 50% water. Straight alcohol is damaging to rubber weather stripping, wiper blades, etc.
@jasonmacneil225610 ай бұрын
I'd be careful using ALCOHOL to clean weatherstripping!! It will dry out the weatherstripping like nobodys business. Hot soapy water. Dawn diswashing liquid or Palmolive dishwashing liquid works great!!

Don't. Petroleum jelly actually damages rubber seals over time and it would also be a dirt Magnet and a sticky goopy mess to apply. Silicone grease or my preference because of application is the gummi pflege.

Peanut butter just get a soft cotton cloth and rub it on lightly Great for rubber seals and plastic trim have used it for years

Alcohol wipes to clean rubber? Seriously not a good idea. Alcohol dries everything and will make the rubber fail quickly. Anything you add on top won't work as effective.
