I have a question sir....can i plug in a pure guitar instrument and will it detect the key aswell as the normal real live playing guitar 🎸 because i cant play guitar i sing mostly karaoke but pure guitar instrumental will that help? because i am really interested in buying one of this vocal effects harmonist.
@kingstumble Жыл бұрын
I know the Boss VE-8 has that ability but I don't think any of the others do. But there are others not mentioned here which will do it. You need to look for something that has 'intelligent harmonization'. The TC Helicon Play devices for instance.

Been engineering 30 years. Trust me ! Nothing beats the PCM 96 in tow with an Eventide harmonizer for real vocal. Not generated tricks and auto tune crap.
@BillVincent2 жыл бұрын
I think you've misjudged the audience for this. Your suggestion (while managing to insult all the others, which I'm sure you haven't even tested or tried) is 10x the cost of any of these. And btw, I use the Roland VT-4 and it is absolutely perfect for my needs in a live scenario, it's inexpensive enough for me to even have a backup in case it goes down, and gives great harmonies with optional "generated tricks and auto-tune crap". But feel free to do a video extolling the virtues of your old school approach that costs more than all of these combined.
@SmokinFoolz Жыл бұрын
Generated Tricks and autotune crap suck. Im down to try an Eventide. thanks for the suggestion. I was looking for a comment like yours because its helpful and honest and sincere.

BOSS is lightyears ahead from others - there is 100% better vocal process - like real voice sound in harmonies - all others are some chip processed unnatural vocal s*hit - and tone of effect that i dont why are they there - it has no use for anysort of performance... I just want domeone to build vocal harmony processor, that can handle MIDI from keybord in real like vocal process in live performance... TC Helicon and Korg and other similar, are not good in these condition - its works fine, but sound processors are not near good enought for real voice sound in harmonies... (PROVE ME WRONG) Thnx!

WARNING !!! These are NOT the 5 best vocal processors. Behringer for example is one of the worst-sounding brands in the world. Everything they make sounds bad and breaks soon. These 5 videos are just promo ads made by the respective manufacturers. These are mid-priced units for singers on a budget. Nothing wrong with that, just not the 5 best. BTW, TC Helicon is a great company, and makes a couple of vocal units that ARE in the top 5; the one shown here is not one of them.

What happened to all the REAL vocal processors? Rack mounted units for the whole band…. not these American Idol wanna be ‘personal effect’ toys everybody’s been putting out the past 10 years. Sad to say it took Berringer the king of copycats to finally lead by example and create another true vocal processor. I will seriously consider that unit

I don't think it's just a matter of the best well packed fx device ever, but more on the best device a singer can use and manipulate while live onstage without having to learn to program, etc. I agree that the TCE VL3 is a beast though. As for me and probably you, we know pedals and love to dig in them to get the best sounding fx. Working with a lot of singer, I saw how fastidious it is for most of them (not all obviously) to deal with a high tech piece of equipment and stay focus on their performance. In that regard, the VL3 is overkill for them.
