I am a foreign nurse and want to start my journey to become a CRNA. I know my first step is NCLEX, but say that I am successful...how do I get into the ICU to get my experience? Do I need to work Med-Surg before I can work in an ICU or do I need to obtain CCRN accreditation first?

I need advice so I've done all my prerequisite and received my AA in Heath Science. Which allows me to go for my BSN RN. BUT I was unaware that I had another option. In the past, before getting my AA in Health Science I took my state boards for my LVN which I failed and never retook it. but still have a chance to take now. If I go that route I will need to pass my LVN STATE BOARDS. then apply to an accelerate BSN RN program. I'm seriously stuck and don't know which path to take. I just need to take the LVN State Boards and pass it then I can go for Accerlerate BSN program or just apply for a BSN program and go that way? What would you do in my shoes?

@thriveCRNA thank you for this information I am an ADN nurse, I got an ICU offer and they are willing to train me in orientation for about 8-12months I want to get my bachelors and I was thinking of using Capella or Grand Canyon University but someone told me since they are for profit schools and don’t give proper grading that when I want to go for my CRNA school that this could affect me and I have a better chance with going to a state RN to BSN program, please how true is this because I really want to start out my CRNA path now

I have never heard of an anesthesia np is that actually a thing? Nps can't do what a crna does

If I have a bachelors degree in psychology and I have been considering a masters in direct entry nursing - would I be a good candidate for CRNA school after the experience I need or should I go back to do an ASN or ABSN program?

You would have to become a registered nurse get your bachelor, aquire icu experience,get ccrn, gre , and apply to make those dreams come true!!❤
