I think that the easier stuff, the simplification, the solo/trust things are all wonderful specifically for players who need accessibility options. I have friends who get easily overwhelmed, but still of course want to play! And I think Yoshi-P and the team have done a great job making this MMORPG accessible as possible to its players. And I believe in the latest live letter, he said something about up into 7.0, everything was about updating and streamlining. And then heading into and thinking about 8.0, they're working towards differentiating jobs again. I think make sure the bones of the MMORPG are strong is so important, since remember they had to do a lot of remaking when it came from 1.0 to 2.0! Now that the bones are updated/solid, including the updated system requirements and graphics, we're going to see a lot more gradual amp up in difficulty. I feel like the NPCs/Trusts can MAYBE do more complex dungeon mechanics, too! They've had enough time to develop those at least. I wish they would bring back job quests, even if it's just 1 extra one with my job NPCs. But who knows? We're pushing new territory here and the devs are clearly listening; it just takes time. Sooo excited for Dawntrail!

Then don't play an mmo lol
@stormkeeper17414 ай бұрын
@@pres002 not everything in an mmo needs to be hardcore sweaty content. Chill man, having an easier to access mmo is better for the games longevity. Wider playerbase means more income which hopefully means more diversity of content. If everything in game is savage difficulty then you'll chase away part of the player base bringing in less money and less new shit. This obsession with everything being absolutely as hard or punishing as possible is ridiculous. If that's your kind of mmo, WoW is still around.
@cj_skywalker4 ай бұрын
@@stormkeeper1741 Well for me, I am sort of between the fences. To be honest, I don't like hardcore content, but I know that an MMO cannot just keep making things easy. Having played many MMOs, I can quote that one I used to play, Wizard101, has been trying to make difficulty progression steady. The first five worlds of the game have the monsters follow the same rules of magic casting that you follow, but starting with world six, the enemies start getting free pips so they can cast high-level spells out of the gate and do tons of damage to you(and since Wizard101 is a turn-based MMO, you can't dodge mechanics, you just have to endure damage), and then with the 10th world, normal enemies and bosses start getting Shadow Pips that let them cast uber-powerful one-shot-kill spells. They did fix the Shadow Pip system to give a shadow meter that grants a shadow pip every time the meter fills but it is still pretty brutal in boss fights. Even though I left Wizard101(mainly because their cash shop triggered my Yu-Gi-Oh self and cost me a ton of money to buy their cash shop currency for a chance to get a new spell which never happened and reminded me that they are monetization fiends), I respected them for keeping the difficulty scaling steady. FFXIV needs to do the same thing or people will complain no matter what. Dawntrail may be a new era of story but you are now a literal god, you need to fight gods, not just kill rabbits ten googol times. ;p

Currently, tomestone weapons are only available to savage players. Some of us with disabilities cannot do those. Are you proposing a change to that for relics? If not, what's your solution? Also, harder content means different things to different players. I do not look forward to being dead most of the time in dungeons, trials, or raids or sitting them out because the content is tailored to savage players. My money is worth the same as theirs.
@SamsonGrey264 ай бұрын
Sorry if I was unclear, I'm not referring to the current tomestone weapon in any way. Instead an entirely separate weapon which is simply brought with uncapped tomes.
@stormkeeper17414 ай бұрын
Tomestone weapons are absolutely available to everyone now aren't they? You can get the upgrade item from doing the 3 tiers of the alliance raids. Other players get access after savage but eventually all get access and generally at this point your relic weapon is stronger anyway if complete.
@AuntSally14 ай бұрын
I totally agree. At the onset I would say that I don’t expect the game to be made to suit me and there should be plenty of difficult content for those who are capable of, and enjoy it. I don’t begrudge the fact that I can’t do all the high end content but I do want to be able to continue do the ‘basic’ game without it becoming a chore. As an older player, with slower reaction times, I have really benefited from playing dungeons with NPC’s as I can take my time without holding other players back. Unfortunately I have also come to absolutely dread Trials which are becoming so mechanic intensive that I just try, unsuccessfully a lot of the time, to stay alive and throw out the occasional damage. This certainly isn’t fair to those people whose group I join Thus I thought that the comments about the game being too easy so it could be done whilst watching videos was a little harsh. I certainly can’t. I do hope that the Devs provide an avenue for players who are not the best in the game to continue to get good ‘loot’ and have enjoyment. I suppose we can only wait and see

To be afraid that dungeons are going to be made into Savage tear is ridiculous. Some tanks can solo dungeons if they want to. That's far too easy. As far as the tombstone weapons, if you're not doing Savage rating and hard content, you don't need those weapons. Not every player should have access to the highest levels of gear, that's where this game fails. Catering to people like you and ruining the entire system. You should have access to the tiers that are appropriate for the level of content in which you participate. Let me repeat that, you should have access to the tiers that are appropriate for the level of content in which you participate. You're also wrong, you can casually participate in hunts and buy the upgrades you need for the tombstone weapon. Or you can do alliance raids and by the upgrade for the tombstone weapon. Which will make you completely overpowered for casual dungeons.
@stormkeeper17414 ай бұрын
@1011skarn bud, you need to chill all the way out. It's not that serious, it's a fucking video game. Savage raiders get priority on tomestone weapons and gear upgrades over everyone else. They don't get made available to all players via alliance raids until a couple of weeks before the next tier or a couple of months before the next expansion. Not to mention, casual players NEVER get access to raid gear so they never get true best in slot. Buy the time casual players can access upgrades most raiders already have their best in slot. I don't know where your weirdo anger is coming from but please put it back. You are in no way being harmed or inconvenienced by them getting access to something after you. Also, while they can increase the difficulty of dungeons, there is zero need for them to get anywhere near savage tier. They should still be approachable by the majority of the player base. If anything, they should increase the rewards of the criterion dungeons or put out an equivalent with each patch that introduces dungeons for those who want greater difficulty but expecting regular dungeons to be made that difficult is ridiculous.

Y'mitria clearly found out that SUMMONERS CANNOT SUMMON MORE THAN THREE EGIS WITHOUT TRANCE. "But we're gods now!" NO. If the f**king HIGH SUMMONERS OF ALLAGAN WHO WERE GODS OF GODS could not hold more than three egis, then is it just plain impossible, give up on that dream and just accept that all we can summon for the rest of FFXIV's life cycle will be Ifrit, Titan, Garuda, Bahamut and Phoenix. I wish we could have used Leviathan and Ramuh to complete the beast tribe set, but Bahamut stole all the glory. (To be honest, I wish they could have added a snippet of dialogue to the dialogue Y'mitria gives when she goes about the plan to have you acquire Bahamut if you had completed the Final Coils of Bahamut. "Oh really? You actually fought and defeated Bahamut? Then you have more than enough aether from that elder primal!") I'm not saying you should stick with Summoner. If you truly utterly despite Summoner from the job action trailer and want to play a physical DPS class, then go right ahead. You do you. But don't treat Summoner as unclean just because we didn't get Ramuh-egi, Leviathan-egi and Shiva-egi. :(

Many NES games will withstand the test of time because they're just great games, even with archaic graphics. There are many games today which look beautiful but are widely regarded as terrible games. Graphics don't matter when it comes to how enjoyable a game is and what its staying power will be.

Final fantasy 14 does not need to get rid of all the easy mode stuff, and it doesn't have to do anything to the Savage hardcore content. What final fantasy 14 needs is a ton more mid-core content. It needs to stretch out ilevels and ignore people who think that they should be able to have access to all gear. You should have access to the tiers that are appropriate for the content in which you participate. You can keep dungeons as they are for people who just want to do story mode. What you can make hard mode dungeons and extreme dungeons by tweaking. How much HP the mobs have and how hard they hit. You can slightly adjust the pads of the dungeons, kind of like they used to back in 2.0. And if super casuals can't clear that content, then it's not for them. I'm tired of the game being catered to the lowest common denominator in terms of skill. No, I'm not a hardcore raider and I don't have time for it, but I'm really good at the game and I don't want to run dungeons that can be soloed by a warrior. They've already ruined tanks and healers by making them completely homogeneous and brain dead. They already cater to these players who think one class is too hard to play. So they dumb it down. Final fantasy 14 should make a great game, and make people understand that not every class is meant to be played by every player. Some classes are and should be harder to play. Maybe they do slightly better DPS as a reward. Some classes should be easier and more accessible to play, again. Doing slightly less DPS but maybe they help buff the party a little more easy. I don't know, they're smart enough to figure it out, but they are alienating the majority of players and catering to people who just want to play dress up.

It's been so nice to be able to enjoy the game my way. I'm really hoping they tie the relic to the criterion dungeons too.
