You don't have to be an animal expert to know that the largest land animals on this planet are the African elephants and the largest animal on this planet is the blue whale. These animals quite rightly get a lot of attention but there are some other giants that deserve some attention too. Some animals are not giants in the conventional sense but are giants of their own world. In this video i will be going through just a few birds that are the largest birds in their family as i will be going through 5 birds that are the largest of their kind.

Kookaburras are beautiful birds. I love hearing their morning calls. I know a few people who have kookas visit their balcony. Like magpies, once the get to know you they enjoy being hand fed. Funny story. I was camping and, in the morning, all the campers would go to an area with BBQs scattered around. A father was just about to place a sausage on his kid's plate when a kookaburra swooped down and stole it off the kid's fork. It then started slamming the sausage against the ground, like it was killing a snake. Meanwhile the kid was bawling and his father was trying not to laugh. It was like watching a comedy.

Please do a part two for the largest birds. Let's include the largest bird of prey as that's always somewhat controversial. Largest gull species the Great black-backed Gull. Largest waterfowl species, largest galliforme (game bird), largest (true) finch, largest corvid.

Tsuki : What about the pileated woodpecker? It's a large woodpecker. I've seen one before. It was at the top of a tall pecan tree in my back yard, sometime in the mid to late 1990s. And it was huge for a woodpecker. I could tell it was not an ivory bill.

@@johntodd3910 I've seen blue wildebeest before during my youth when my family took me to Longleat safari park in the UK (I live in AU). It was such a surreal experience as they were at the time, and still are, some of my favourite animals. There were six of them, all male, that shared an exhibit with rhesus macaques. They can get quite large, especially the males, and are among one of the antelopes in the world. What always fascinated me about the wildebeest was the sheer amount of them which took place in their annual migration across Kenya and Tanzania. One thing I learned about recently is that the in the wildebeests on their annual migration are a keystone species in the Serengeti. As they chew away all the grass they remove fuel for bushfires and allow more trees to grow. Truly a sleeper pic for one of the best bovines!

Do you think you could do a video talking about both the Ivory-Billed Woodpecker and the Imperial Woodpecker? They're some of my most favorite birds and are incredibly fascinating to study. Yes, I know that many people think that they're extinct, but there's also a lot of people that think they're still alive. I think that both species are still alive, and I love to see a video about these two magnificent birds.
