I read two books in the 90s - rich dad, poor dad and the motley Fool. After that I was both equipped and inspired to start investing. As a result, in my mid 50s, I don't need to work any more to fund my lifestyle. It really does work, as long as you actually start, keep things simple, stay consistent and wait 25 years or so (it soon comes around, don't worry ..). Yes, I also regret not starting earlier. I dabbled when I was 28 but didn't start my main plan until 30.

I thought it was ok. In that there were good coverage of all the basics in stocks but I didn’t see any special ways of picking them that were unique. Also no mention at all of the fact that most people lost money trading and no mention at all of index funds which I thought was a bit strange. I’m happy he’s made a tonne of money but anyone can make money in a raging bull market. Wasn’t convinced.
