My flights consist of just watching the Jets travel map screen and/or just looking out the window. My worst fear about travel is one that most might not admit to, but mine is the fear that I will be bloated/constipated during the vacation. And while the Soundcore products seem amazing, I probably would not get much use but Megan, you are quite the saleswoman! I also must say I never travel or sleep without my Mack's Pillow Soft Silicone Putty Earplugs. I use them on flights, for sleeping or loud concerts and they are a staple in my life. I enjoy as always your videos. Keep em coming and hello to the beautfiful Ollie - a lot of beauty in that place !

Air travel is my top concern. I have MS and can very easily catch an illness. Staying healthy while flying is a concern. I’m careful and have never become ill while flying, but this is still my top concern.

@@tpret Oh yes, I am also aware as I seem to catch Pneumonia sometimes when I travel so I do try to make efforts to avoid this while traveling. My cousin has MS so I can relate to you.

I always love these videos. My biggest problem with long flights has been sleeping. Until a few years ago I could never sleep on a plane regardless of duration. What changed was I bought noise-canceling headphones (over-the-ear). On one flight I went “premium economy” and picked a seat directly in front of the bulkhead so I could recline without bothering anyone behind me. (PE seats recline almost flat.) Not only did I sleep, I slept well and was rested and ready to go when I arrived. 😎✈️

I really love Apple’s AirPod Pro 2. They are super compact, four different rubber ear tips so they’re super comfortable, can switch from excellent noise reduction to “transparency” with just a squeeze on either AirPod, can even do a hearing test and act as hearing aids, and were recently $153 during the Black Friday sale with Amazon. They seamlessly transfer from my iPad to my iPhone when switching sources and have superb audio quality. Megan, thanks to your tip on the air fly adapter, they even worked perfectly with airplanes entertainment system.

Anxiety performance over sleep is a real issue. During the pandemic, I actually had to go to therapy because of it - I spent WEEKS without proper sleep. In my case, the culprit was lack of sunlight, which was a real issue during quarantine in my poorly lit apartment. My internal clock got all messed up. Add anxiety over the consequences of not sleeping into the mix and sleep became impossible. Light therapy and moving to an apartment with wide windows helped a lot. When I expect sleep is going to be bad some days, I try to schedule a backup nap time during the day: I find it reassuring to know I have this little spot in my day where i can get some shut eye, in case my night is bad :)

I’ve been looking for new noise canceling headphones and have a cruise this year for which I have a 7 hour plane flight. This video provided options I’d never considered. The sleep option was an unexpected suggestion I’ll be reviewing. Thanks for sharing!

I was surprise that you recommend Soundcore. I just recently needed to replace my noise cancelling over the ear headphones. The pleather covering the padding on the ear cups had pulled away and was flaking. Every time I wore them I looked like I had a really bad case of dandruff. I looked on Amazon for something to replace them and settled on the Soundcore Life Q20 Headphones. The padding on the ear cups is so soft. When I turn them on after I put them on, the noise canceling turns on automatically, and boy can I tell when it does. It's like walking into an audiologist's sound proof booth. I didn't get mine for flying anywhere though. I have ADHD and the noise of large groups of people all talking at once can overwhelm me. My Life Q20s make my life so much easier. I need to check out the Sleep A20s. Because I have to use an adapter so I can listen to my sleep meditation when I go to bed. I have corded earphones and my phone doesn't have an earphone jack.

I use bose as their quality and sound are awesome. The big clunky ones I use for long travels. I just came back fro Italy yesterday and I used them for the 11 hr flight and battery last3ed the whole trip. I also have the in ear ones that I use for shorter flights. Thankfully I fall asleep without a problem

Neck pillow and noise cancellation headphones are helpful on long flights, yes. Also, staying hydrated and eating energy bars is good as well as getting up to walk and stretch every few hours to avoid dvt. Walking the long beach in Vietnam sounds wonderful.Thanks for these helpful reminders, Megan.

As a regular long haul flyer, quality noise cancelling headphones can make a huge difference to overall well being. I used the Bose QC35 Series 2's (including the physical audio cable) for many years. Recently changed them for a smaller and lighter setup - AirPods Pro 2 and the AirFly Wireless Bluetooth receiver 😊. Better NC than the Bose and no cables getting in the way, when getting in and out of the seat! 😎. Happy Travels! 🙏

Pro tip: Ask your local hearing aid dispenser to make you a custom in-ear sleeve. They make an impression of your inner ear and the in-ears fit so tightly that I can't even hear the train announcements (even at very low volume). It's not cheap, but definitely the best investment I've made in years. 🤗 Edit: They have 3D scans of many in-ear headphones, from Apple to Soundcore and many more. This ensures that your favourite in-ear headphones fit perfectly and won't fall out of place, even when you're jogging. Wired or wireless, it doesn't matter.

I try to be ahead of the curve so don't stress much about flying. I completely agree with you about noise canceling earphones or buds _ they are a game changer. I use Samsung products almost exclusivly, Phone, tablet etc. so have the Buds2 Pro's and they work great. I do need a new set of over-the-ear buds for exercise though and will give the SoundCore buds a look. Appreciate you Megan!

Sorry, Megan, $200 headphones and $150 earbuds are not budget items, IMO. However, I do agree about having good headphones is essential for travel. I am currently testing out a pair of open ear headphones to do a review on them and these suckers are fantastic, I even forget I'm wearing them until I need to listen to something. Last month, I got three pairs of over-ear travel headphones to review, two provided great noise cancelling and they all fold up similarly to the Space Ones. Two pairs came with hard cases, so now my husband and I each have a travel pair of headphones that will probably live in our carry on bags, since I've pretty much decided these over-ears are my go-to pair. My biggest travel fear is that one of my chronic pain issues will flare up and prevent me from doing everything I want to do. I now travel with a cane because I've done too many face plants trying to get to my gate. (balance challenged post stroke).
@JenSheaАй бұрын
I have sinus pressure/ear trouble, so I cannot ever block my ears, so those noise-canceling headphones are a no go for me. Those clipons look fairly comfortable. Not in my budget for next weeks flight, but maybe in the future. I've never slept on a flight... I'm with you... As exhausted as I am after 24 hours of travel, I usually can't sleep the first or second night.
@itravelersАй бұрын
What a coincidence, just bought a pair of Soundcore Space Q45 on Black Friday deal. One of our recent flights was unbearable due to my poor seat selection behind the engine. My Apple AirPods Pro 2s simply weren’t enough. Looking forward to using them on our next flights.
@thedavidguy01Ай бұрын
I can second your recommendation for the Soundcore headphones. The noise cancellation is impressive for the price. However, after traveling with headphones for several years I’m switching to earbuds to reduce the bulk. As to the biggest problem when traveling, for me, like you, it’s sleep. And I also don’t function well without good sleep. The good news is that the older I get the easier I find it to fall asleep, even when traveling.

I\m thinking about returning a Samsonite suitcase that I bought on Amazon. It was advertised as a 28" as a "large" suitcase, but exterior dimensions are measured at 31.5"x20.5"x13.5", totaling 65.5", which is over the 62" Max, for airlines. The suitcase it would be replacing, is a "real" measured 28".

I can understand your concerns. Airlines are certainly being stricter with their carry on and checked luggage regulations.
