I may be out to lunch but one thing I won't use as a barter item is ammunition. Whatever I have I will keep. I will barter such things as: water, water filtration devices (lifestraws etc.), food, alcohol, medical supplies (bandages, otc meds, etc.), Bic lighters (every prepper should have several hundred), coffee, my skills - eg. teach someone to find and purify water in exchange for something I want or need, cannabis, condoms, sanitary pads... the list goes on and on. Weapons and ammo I will keep for myself. But, hey, if someone wants to trade ammo for stuff I have.. I'm down with that. Still - another good video well executed, Kyoshi. It's critical to be familiar with firearms in a SHTF environment. I would also recommend that folks look into archery... it can be absolutely deadly and is deadly silent too.

Always great advice, brother. I took some parts out, when editing, to keep the video from being too long. And I realize, I took out the risks of giving ammo to anyone. I’d only trade with someone I know and trust. And also want newbies to understand Operational Security etc. Thanks for always sharing such great stuff!!!!

I realized after I published the video, that some of what I cut out in editing (to keep the video from being too long) was this exact subject. I would only give/sell/trade ammo with someone I know and trust for a very long time. You’re absolutely right!!! I also stock some, “vice items” that I don’t use, but I know someone would want... alcohol, tobacco, etc.

Just a small correction, M-1 Garands shot 30-06 and it is also common enough round. I prefer 22 TCM from Armscor. It is a 223 on a 9mm case. It is a round that was always available although it increased in price but not by much.

@mattchaffin11332 жыл бұрын
@@insatiable_mind first I will pray for you to find refuge in a better state. There is little difference between the 365 and the xl model. The xl has 12 round mags, I believe it’s a little bigger in the grip length and, it has the option of a thumb safety. Personally I went the xl route because of the safety. I have a little one who still like to climb an hang on me. I always thought I was going to go Glock but, after shooting the 43 I changed my mind. If I do go Glock it will be in the G19 platform. This is just my opinion an that’s all it’s worth.

I like your choice for 5 types of ammunition. For myself to would modify the .308 up to 30-06. Just because I have mutual weapons in that caliber. Two thing you didn’t stress , proper storage of ammunition and using ammunition for trade could be adding danger to yourself and others (getting shot with ammunition you provide would be sad). Enjoyed hearing your take on ammunition. Now if you had only one choice of weapon from the five, what would you choose? I know one tool doesn’t fit every circumstance. Thanks

To pick just one would be hard to do. Many tools for different applications and situations. 👍 I guess it’s good for thought!

Thank you so much, for the great input. I really appreciate it. There was a lot of content I cut out in editing to keep the video from being too long. I’ll have to make another at some point. About storage, and the operation security / risks of using ammo for barter or currency. I’d never give ammo to someone I didn’t know and trust. As far as one gun to rule them all... that’s a tough one. I guess my AR. I hope I never need to pick just one. Lol.

I understand uour thought process in the video. But bartering with ammo may not be the best idea. If someone knows you have supplies, that ammo you traded away could be used against you.

My dad is an x marine fire arms instructor from the late 50s through the 60s and was lucky enough to find one for sale a few years back just like the one he carrried back then.. Me I shoot a 30.06 long distance bolt action rifle. 30.8 is the little brother to the 30.06 power wise like the 30.06 is the little brother to the 300 win mag.
