I have one quick tip or hack. When you're embossing on Vellum.. if you're using the Misti or one of the stamp platforms that have a white or light background I put a piece of black cardstock behind the vellum. That way I know that when I actually am stamping it I get all of the intricate little parts of the stamp because it's always hard to see where the embossing ink goes and the black background makes it pop. Also when I heat the Vellum I do it from the back side rather than the front. That was something I learned years ago and it has seemed to help with warping because I love stamping on Vellum and then I love coloring it in from the back too which is always pretty. Thanks for the great video, by the way. You going to save me a ton of money on embossing powders.

Justine Hovey, I put magnets on the bottom of my nuvo drops and add a metal joiner plate glued to the bottom of my shelf. They are very thin so you can’t really see them. Then I store my nuvo drops from the bottom of the shelves so I don’t get air bubbles in my drops

When you are using the MISTY for background stamps you can use Sticky grid sheets (double sided light sticky paper) to hold cardstock in place, as there is no room for magnets. Paper doesn't move so you can re ink with emossing ink. works a treat. Thanks for the tips.

Another way to color non porous embellishments if you have alcohol ink... put embellishments in a small baggie, add few drops alcohol ink, massage to disperse. Pour embellishments out onto paper towel or craft mat to dry. Dries quickly cause the alcohol evaporates.

If vellum warps, you can run it through your die cutting macine with a piece of cardstock or metal shim. A few passes will usually flatten the vellum.

I agree Justine - I was blown away when I discovered how easy it is to get any color of embossing. I've found that you can put clear or pearl embossing powder straight onto distress oxide inks without using Versamark. It's pretty great to match an embossed sentiment to a color in a blended background - and using pearl gives a lovely muted version of that color. I use the Sistema containers recommended by Jennifer McGuire for clear, white and pearl powders. They are large enough that it is easy to pour the powder off the project directly back in without any mess.

I loved all these hacks when I saw them too! A hack to share with you... you can restickify(?) your sticky tool by using some Tombow white glue, Zig glue or any glue that is permanent when wet, but removable when dry! I do it all the time with my sticky tool! Just put a blob on the end of your tool and let it dry! Voila... now you have a sticky tool! If it's to sticky just touch it on your hand a bit to destickify(?) it a little!
