I watched you on Dr. Baker's show. Great interview. Your journey somewhat mirrors mine. I evolved from keto to carnivore over a 6 plus period of time. I am 72 and have not visited with my primary doctor for that entire period of time.

You nailed some things. I've been carnivore for a year and found many carnivore channels helpful for a while, but I've unsubscribed from most of the "popular" ones trying to build a platform or an income stream. Keep it simple.

So you benefit from carnivore videos but have a problem with creators trying to build a platform or make money to offset the time it takes to research, film, edit, upload and reply to posts?

@@sjagain no, we unsub from channels that turn themselves into info-mercials. I didn't watch those on TV either, certainly not going to do it on youtube.

@@sjagain Sorry, I didn't fully expound on the reasons I unsubbed several channels. Primarily for ridiculous click bait, "whoa is me", and over-sensational vids.

I agree with you on all of these. I’m in my 60s, and one of the things I enjoy about my stage of life is that it seems easier to avoid most people’s drama, which I have no interest in and no energy for., and no time for online. 🙂

Yes, yes! And don't forget Over Edited Oscar whose stock image and meme ladened videos have all the charm and sincerity of a KZbin pre-roll ad. I'm watching a video about my health and suddenly it turns into a SpongeBob SquarePants cartoon followed by a team of lab coat wearing doctors holding clipboards while walking in slow motion in front of some expensive equipment and looking very serious.

Yes indeed Wise Sir, I do believe that you have hit every one of the bugaboos and done a fine job of it. I pick up a few channels and I drop a few channels. Some are really good and interesting and I tend to pick knowledgeable ones and humorous ones...we enjoy yours very much, as you can see we are still here 😊. Thanks for the study and wisdom and of course the humor. Hope you have a great week.👍👏💯🔥🥩👋

Absolutely agree! The click bait ones are easily side stepped after a very short while - it’s the ‘cult’ mentality that I avoid like the plague - the condescending, patronising attitude is a big turn off and says a lot about the personalities who choose that approach. They’d make excellent cult leaders. Your pepper story was very amusing. (I put a little mustard in my mayo but I’m keeping that to myself 😂).

Agreed. It may be beneficial to a lot of people in setting them up for a healthy foundation. But last month I came down with pneumonia. You better believe I took the steroids and the antibiotics instead of eating a can of SPAM. I was miserable and ready to do whatever it took...and did.
@Onewholovesrock11 ай бұрын
Yep. Agree with this. Some of these bigger influencers are a bit shady if you ask me. Then these folks just create video after video talking between themselves. Saying the same things over and over again. Pulling in viewers and getting decent paydays to do so. Sometimes even getting their carnivore followers to donate to the cause. Many are selling T-Shirts through print on demand sites. Which is fine. But it all gets a bit ridiculous and generic. Personally. I watch these types of channels just to read the comment sections. I do like seeing regular folks without any skin in the carnivore game telling us about their success stories.
@thecarnivorecurmudgeon11 ай бұрын
Agreed. Sometimes it seems a little "incestuous" how they just keep popping up on each other's channels and repeating the same things that they've already said on that same person's channel.

Hey thanks. In my opinion different channels appeal to different people based on what they need and want to get out of it. For me I like the straight talkers like Dr's. Baker, Berry, and Chaffee. I also like some of the practical side people like Ferigno Freedom, certain stuff from Lillie Kane, the Ketogenic woman, and...

But a mini bagul with 10 oz of cream cheese always gets my appetite fired up. So i will allow a small amount of carb on some days when its hard to eat

Oh yes, Clickbait. Urggh. It's bad enough that Carnivore channels attract really weird ads, and tons of veggie recipe channels. 😍 Yes, Keto people did develop a lot recipes trying to mimic things like snacks, bread, cake. I saw that in FB Keto groups a lot. 9:00 to use pepper or not. First, too bad the commentor didn't phrase their concern in a more balanced and polite way, so readers can think about it, and they are not confronting you.
@thecarnivorecurmudgeon11 ай бұрын
I've got no problem with someone pointing out that pepper (or anything else) may have adverse effects on some people, but there are some people out there that can't eat shellfish, chicken, or something else so blanket statements like that cheese me off. Oh sorry, some people can't eat cheese.😁
