I subscribed today. I love you commitment! I can speak spanish from studying it for 2 years in college. Not fluent but i can have conversations. I love to be away from people. I would struggle with building but i have done framing and drywall. I just never had any training in construction. Thanks for sharing your journey.

Thank you! Glad to have you along :) You would pick up Spanish pretty quickly! Being immersed helps a lot. You just have to get comfortable making mistakes and flowing with it. Building isn't too bad, especially with all of the resources online now. Especially if you've done framing.

Welcome to the club, we as Mexicans and foreigners also get overcharged when we travel to Mexico. I hope this helps you feel a little better 😅

Very interesting, thanks for sharing! What made you decide to go off grid in Mexico? Seems random but exciting

I actually have an explanation of that in a video if you feel like going that route! kzbin.info/www/bejne/l2Sxk6enep1rmM0 Mainly, it was much more affordable to build a life from scratch here. Buying property, building a home, and becoming a father with a stay at home wife, was not in the cards, in the U.S. of A.

A video idea: I would love to know how you get your energy here in the middle of no where please? I see you have. a few solar panels on the house but is that it, how do they run? Been binging watching to see if you explain this. 😅

Not as much as you would think.. Owning a firearm in Mexico is actually pretty difficult (legally) or at least very expensive (illegally). I haven't seen any large wild animals in general. It's odd.. I'm used to seeing much more wildlife in the wilderness of the U.S.. I'm sure there is a reason behind it that I probably don't want to know

@@Gringooaxhard to own a firearm and no protection from the cartel? Youve got balls brother
@Gringooax

The cartel doesn't have much activity where we are... Cartel activity has been so far off of my radar for the 8 years that I've been traveling around Mexico. It's not nearly as prevalent as some would have you believe.... but yes, I do have balls as well brother
