That's impressive you were able to pass after only 6 months. I have the book and it's a lot to stomach lol. Many people who have worked in the field much longer than you struggle to pass. good job!

Hey thanks for the video! And congratulations!! Can you please guide me as to how I can furnish and prove my experience? I have 20 years experience, but largely in the Physical Security domain.

Hi Jonathan, thank you for your comment. Cybersecurity outside of the physical security is quite different(knowledge wise) but the fundamental idea is close. You could take a few certificates and show that your experience in the physical domain has indeed has helped you as a security professional and show your potential I think :)

Love your videos! Giving me great inspirations to get certified in CISSP! Just interested to know if you are planning for other certifications inside the security field as well? Things like Security+, CISM, Cloud Security (Microsoft, AWS) etc. >> Would you consider these certs as a junior in security field ?

Thank you Kelvin. That is really nice of you to say:) I actually am currently studying for an exam which does not directly have to do with cybersecurity, (I will share once I get this on track ...) but yes after that exam, I am thinking about going for the CIPP(US) and then go through CEH and OSCP. (Still thinking how I would navigate but the goal is to learn the hacking side:) I actually have a few certificates from Oracle on Cloud so, I think I will take a break on cloud although I know it will be a good one to get especially now!

Hi Kathryn...while you're acquiring the 5 years experience...will the CISSP still be valid during that time? Or will it have to be updated? Surely we wouldn't have to take the exam again every few years, especially considering the cost!
@kathryn_Cyber
@kathryn_Cyber 2 жыл бұрын
Hi reliableandrew, Thank you for your comment. No, you don’t have to take another exam. You will need to keep getting 15 CPEs(you get it by attending seminars or read one of the (isc)2 documents or in many other ways) a year till you gain your 5 year experience but after that you send a request to the (isc)2 and you will be fully certified.(it will be ridiculous if you had to take the exam again…I agree 😂)

Mam, I am 10+ yrs experienced on VoIP and other domain. But very interested in this field. Can I have your comment on this
@kathryn_Cyber
@kathryn_Cyber 2 жыл бұрын
Good for you Naveen! You are a step into cybersecurity:) I assume you are quite familiar around the network. If you don’t know where to start or what your interest is in cybersecurity, you could say start looking at how you secure VoIP and what aspects of that interests you. It could be vulnerabilities existing, it could be attacking it itself, or it could be securing the environment too. Have fun:)
