Wait? Dont all of the characters have extensive combos they have access to from side step scenarios? Or no? This is special for Nina or certain characters? If so, then why are the other characters so deficient at something so basic? I try so hard to understand wat it is that people like about Tekken, but idk... It's tough, but I'm trying...

Every character in tekken has the same 'basic moves' but each character uses them differently, while also having their own unique moves. Dragunov as an example has a running mid attack that is easy to use, while Feng has a good low that is near impossible to react to, but also gives extra damage if it counter hits. Nina is very 'skinny' so she can easily sidestep, while someone like Jack or the Bears are 'wide' and have more trouble stepping moves. Balance is always an argument, but even long time players dislike some of the balance aspects about Tekken. Yet its very fun to play and addictive once you start getting better at the game.

@Teamspooky I played a lot of Tekken 3 and 5, never really got super into it, but I did a lot of practice room stuff. Mastered entire moves lists like Eddy and Huarang, King being my favorite. Lee... But never really got into the way the combat actually panned out. Visually one of the coolest games to watch frame by frame, for me, but watching the fights I realize that the majority of the moves in a characters list aren't ever implemented in a game that offers the most rich moveset u can find in a fighting game. Everytime I watch King fight I'm praying for a deadly boomerang that I never get to see... Lol

Nina has an above average side step. In addition, her moves from side step are crazy good. ss2 is an i13 mid launcher, ss1+2 is a mid safe launcher that does chip damage on block, ss4 is an unseeable low that's +6 on hit and ch ss4,2 is a launcher. ss1 cancels puts her at +10 on block and +23 on hit. That's crazy good frames. Her combo damage now is well above average (she was top 1 in terms of combo damage on release but got her combo damage nerfed in 3 different patches). Right now Nina is pretty much an undisputed top 3 character in the game and many would even argue she's the best character right now.

All these broken pos and then there's characters like Steve who are too well balanced in a game where everyone is doing something game breaking. To low high knee and anyone thinking of playing steve if you are reading this, please don't. Ppl wont remember you for playing steve they'll remember you for winning either with dragunov feng or yoshi

Why does Nina have armor? Did I miss how she's actually a terminator or something? Wat are her pronouns?

In this game there are moves that can armor through your attacks. In game this is called 'power crush'. Nina has one of the best ones!

@@teamspooky yes indeed, I'm familiar, and ur a legend btw, but I'm a MVC3 guy mostly, and armor is typically reserved for those u could imagine taking a good shot like Haggar, Nemesis... But Nina is a skinny female, so unless she's identifying as a big body... Seems weird to give her that over other tools better suited for her archetype. Unless again, she may b a robot and I just don't know.
