Quantum computing is such a speculative stupid thing to invest in, it's basically like buying a pharmaceutical stock and hoping you get the one that makes something usable at all

These quantum computing charts remind me of the AI company stocks in the 1990s, during the last "AI Summer". Lots of contenders, few could justify their expense with a solid business case, and the survivors could barely hang on with their niche TAM. IBM could afford to move the puck forward in AI because the cost was a rounding error to their total operational cost, and they dominated certain niches.
