There was a Christmas scented drugstore body spray I purchased sometime in the late 90s that haunts me. It’s long discontinued, wish I could recall the name, but it was pure sorcery. There was creamy cinnamon eggnog accord. The best way to describe the scent is a slightly floral eggnog, a definite nutty or nutmeg vibe in there. To this day no other scent has replicated it.

Yes! My davana smells like dried fruits - raisins and prunes. It was so surprising and nice

That’s similar to what I get from it :)

Hey Sam - just a note re: avoiding DGC3 restrictions on international shipping. Might not be an option you are willing to do, but just selling the straight juice without the alcohol and then providing a suggested dilution with perfumer's alcohol is one way I've seen people in Australia get around this (For shipping from Australia to overseas).

Interesting idea - I wouldn’t want to do that though because I’d want people to be able to unwrap the finished product

Do you know what the best ingredient online stores for Non EU European countries? I used PellWall to get my first ingredients. But the shipping was £50 (the ingredients was £20, and one of the bottles had leaked😖). I don't expect you to know for Norway specifically, but maybe you've heard of this issue from other viewers.

A fellow Norwegian, how odd. Was wondering the exact same thing too.

To be honest I’m really not sure

I’ve been thinking about doing a top note of lemon bergamot and dihydromyrcenal and then having a middle note of Calone Helional and Hedione with a base note of iso e super, Ambroxan and ethylene brassylate do you think this would work

Hi Sam! Thank you for the great videos. I have a simple question (not related to this video sorry). I made an amber accord based on your videos using Labdanum absolute and vanillin. I used Labdanum Absolute 10% in DPG and Vanillin 10% . 1:1 ratio. The problem is that I cant smell “Amber” . First it smells like labdanum then 10 minutes later it smells like vanillin. What am i doing wrong?
@sammacer Жыл бұрын
Maybe try some different ratios; although you should get the effect, maybe it just doesn’t work for you

@@sammacer thanks for your response! All your videos are super helpful. Next day morning the accord was much better and blended by the way). Please make more videos on simple formulas for beginners with common aroma chemicals :) Thank you

Can you do a new video discussing spices in perfumery? Different raw materials and how to achieve curtain spice accords.

Sam i have a question, is there a difference between 96 and 99% ethyl alcohol for perfumery? Or doesn't it really matter
@sammacer Жыл бұрын
Both should be fine but I would say 99% is better

Yet to try Davana, but I agree with the others! 🎄

It's an amazingly ethereal, mystique and clinical scent, very expensive though.
