Only 40 seconds in and regardless of the rest of the video, I'm throwing a like for your steadfast refusal to use AI voicing! Hate that crap. Stand strong my man! We know it's easier and takes less time. It also comes across as lazy and lacking the personal touch that makes many of you so endearing to watch/listen to. Beyond all of that though, I just have zero interest in listening to robots narrate scripts. Even the ones modeled after real voices seem sterile and emotionless, as if we need more of that. This "you'll own nothing and be happy while we AI all the things" is not the future I want.

I think the blurry background during reloading in Black is actually realistic. You can only focus on one thing at a time in real life; reloading or the background.

@TheGunnyBadger03xx I agree. Having played it through twice in the last 12 months. Your central focus in on what action you are performing. The hot round thing is true though. They should also let you do simple reloads while not looking at your handgun. I think most trained personnel could reload their gun by muscle memory alone.

Black used the game engine from the Burnout racing series. It was one of the earlier titles when you can make cars explode and kill enemies. I am satisfied with the titles you listed, yet surprised that you did not include Ninja Gaiden and Burnout 3. They both looked and ran incredibly on Xbox.

I think they were going for realism and immersion with the reload focus in BLACK. You would have to actually focus on your weapon to perform a reload in a firefight so it does really add something unique to the gunplay in my opinion. I feel ya tho, it can be a hindrance and should have probably been a toggle option.

All of SEGA's arcade games look incredible. Daytona USA in high res but with even better texture filtering than the Xbox One (which had better texture filtering than the 360) makes it a visual splendor.

The blurry background while reloading wasn't to focus on the gun at all. It was implemented to say "Hey, you can't focus on action while reloading in real time." I remember EA explaining this when they demo'd it at E3 (2005).

IIRC, Emperor's Tomb was only 4:3 originally on the original system and on 360, unless there was a setting I was missing. So seeing it in 16:9 is really cool!

I've handled firearms my whole life including years of training in the military, Black is not supposed to be a hyper realistic military sim, it's a Michael Bay stylistic shoot'em up. While visually cool, I just found it annoying.

You know what pisses me off about modern gamers it's 60fps. When I started, it was two tanks and barriers on 2600. It's getting harder to tell, they're probably AI more often than you realize, it's becoming more prevalent all the time. KZbin has been developing AI detection tools and as a creator I have to tell them if my content is AI altered, why would they do all that if it wasn't becoming a thing?
