Yessssss! People always ignore that and then they're all confused about about why their artwork is so messy
@licentiousdreams4 жыл бұрын
Rushing rarely creates the desired results. You don't have to finish in the quickest time possible usually so take your time and take a break then come back if needed. Your art isn't gonna run away while you're gone...

If anyone is worrying about darker skin, you still shouldn't use black. Build up your browns before going to the black, and start with a middle skin tone. You always want to start lighter but be reasonable ^^

If your going to use OMS & layer color, you don't necessarily need a sharp colored pencil. If fact, not using a sharp pencil will allow you to save $$$ (especially for expensive color pencils) by not having to lay out a lot of color if you don't need it. If you still use a circular motion, you'll get a even tone of color, after applying the OMS. You also have the added benefits of not mistakenly burnishing the paper but, easily laying down large areas of color without taking all year (extremely useful for backgrounds). Just my 2 cents based on my experience. Feel free to take it or leave it

Hey Kirsty, what kind of colouring pencils do you recommend? BTW does it make a big difference if I use cheap pencils or "high-quality" pencils?
@joeperez69296 жыл бұрын
Yes it matters they're richer in pigment so the color is more brilliant and different ones contain different binders so you have some like a polychromos that have a hard lead and the prismacolor have a soft lead
