Strange thing: Spears and Tentacle Spikes do the same overall damage. 34x150= 5100 51x100 = 5100 I still would reccomend using the Spike, as it kills most enemies faster.

The hundred extra damage is just there for rounding purposes, so the real damage value you will get from using them is 5000

If you are a new player I recommend using the spear for basic needs and do not go into the swamp. Use it for basic needs go to the beef if you can’t handle the hounds and craft a hambat for the fight with deerclops.

As a Wilson main, my strat is mostly kiting and avoiding conflict by triggering a tough mob/boss and leading it to the swamps or other dangerous enemies. (Except Dragonfly or any fire-based area's. Too much risk of losing valuables to fire) I usually end up in this like dance to avoid triggering more creatures while staying close enough to make sure everything is killing each other accordingly. Unfortunately, this strat can end up taking a long time depending on what's close by. Kiting is really important, it takes a bit of practice but it really is invaluable, until then I hope this helps give ideas to any new players. Play smart, unless you're Wolfgang or Wigfrid.....then just tank it, I mean what are the monsters gonna do? Hurt you? HA!

Generally Maxwell is fairly bad late game. Don’t get me wrong, he’s very powerful, but he’s outclassed late game by a boss. During second autumn, a boss will attack you similar to Deerclops, you can use this boss’s large hitbox and AOE attacks to chop down entire forests. But early game, Maxwell is still fairly good. One of the best late game characters is obviously Wickerbottom because her On Tentacles can be used to make crazy good farms and cheese bosses that lack AOE like the Bee Queen. But don’t pick your character based on their late game potential, as you can always swap characters with the Celestial Portal.

Maxwell is a good choice for late game if you want to mega base, because wood is one of the most important resources when your megabasing, and beager will always die to tree guards before you get nearly enough wood for your base.

How do you get ham bats and football helmets as a renewable resource though? You never explained that. Log suits and spears are made from materials that are easily renewable. Pig heads are extremely limited and pig houses can be useful so you don't want to demolish too many.

I suggest getting two marble armor, 3-4 football helms, and setting up a campfire with the best healing food you have. Hambat is the obvious choice for the weapon and packing cooked green caps or cooked cactus flesh which I would suggest more because it doesn’t damage you. I know tanking him is quite the resource sink but it is fast so you don’t have to deal with shadow creatures as much

@@jayanta131190 first of all bees are extremely inefficient for deerclops cause his are aoe and he kills bees in one hit second just get like 3 football helmets and a ham bat and fight him on a campfire (specifically a campfire since fire pits count as structures and can be smashed by his attacks) and if you're good on hp and sanity just hold ctrl f until he dies

I'm just curious how you are farming all these pig skins? Are you creating a pig farm? If so, what design?

Hammering down pig heads from touch stones or swamps or several setpieces would suffice you with enough pig skin but its not always garenteed to find a lot of those so more experienced players smash pig house for 2 extra skins each and for the boards and cut stone to spare some time and resources for making alchemy engines also you can kill the pig after smashing its house to get big meat for ham bats and an extra skin 1/4 of the time.

@@MasterMeley Right but a hambat is good for like 5 days. I'm on day 100 in one of my worlds so that's like 20 hambats. I generally make a hambat for a boss or some other large encounter. Feel like this whole "use a hambat" would go over better if you had a farm going. Problem is pigs eat the pig skins.

While exploring the whole map you will find a good amount of pig heads and also you can hammer down some pig houses that are far away from your base. You can easily get 40 pig skin this way. I'd say you should only get a ham bat if you're going to the ruins (cuz u need space, and a few tentacle spikes + football helmets will clog your inventory), or when fighting a fat boss.

I can't believe you suggest Thelucite Crown. You are joking. You can also get 90% dmg reduction from marble suit and now with the marble suit buff it's super easy to get. Also how do you not mention to combine head and body armor together to spread the durability. That's a very important fact for noobs to know. Also, kiting should always be the first option. The only things you shouldn't try to kite is dragonfly. Otherwise you are wasting a shit ton of recourses standing in their attack range like an idiot. I suggest you scrap this video get some actually good advice and display it here.
