Wilson is, chronologically, one of the last to enter the Constant, and although Maxwell is the outsider who lived there the longest, he was bound to the throne most of the time, and didn't actually *survive* most of its horrors, given his status as king of the world before DST.

Even if merms are not attacking hounds on sight, hounds still can randomly switch their target and attack nearby merm. If you or any merm get hit, every merm around will immediately attack that poor soul. Just run around and wait when hounds deaggro.

Rushing lunar island with Wurt is a Must. She gets so much from it that she basically Cant Starve once you gather Stonefruit and Kelp Stalks. I played recently with 2 Friends (Wilson and Wx) they were cooking constantly and asking me to go farm meat for them, meanwhile I was constantly gulping down a ton of Raw Kelp and StoneFruit because we had a LOT of it. We played 300 days in that world, rushing Lunar at Day 5 was the Best decission that i could've made 😂 Especially since that source of food worked all year round, and when I planted one of the Big trees and moved the Stonefruit plantation under there I literally didn't have to care even for flingos

Got to say I love wurt so much, never really got far enough to make use of the merms too much but def on of my favs, it also prob helps that I've sunk way too much time into the farming system to not use it all the time, and wurt is benefited the most by it

You can use meat as Wurt. You can feed it to birds to get eggs and then use 2 eggs and 2 berries for a fistful of jam. For trading with the pigking (if you are solo) you can even trade without the portal by becoming Wonkey. Was looking forward to your Wurt video^^ I'm excited about your next video^^

Honestly, that's why I main Wig. She just survives, doesn't need to care about HP and Sanity, and you have much more leeway with her, while having incentive to enjoy the one of most exciting part of the game (combat) too. Also great while playing with friend new to DST, since you can give them everything, and don't bother with sustaining yourself.

A few important things you missed: Merm wars, merm guards 0.5 day respawn timer, accessing merms in winter and eggs plus some more. ▪You can make merms fight each other like spiders for tons of fish and frog legs. Regular merms respawn in 2 days, however... ▪Merm warriors respawn in half a day. This respawn timer is so fast that you can have a merm war that lasts for days and days. Merm guards are always worth it since making them fight each other is amazing for resources and food, always go for merm warriors, they are not a resource sink since they can pay themselves off fast. ▪What will you do with all those frog legs and meat from merm wars? The answer is turning them to eggs. Eggs can be used for filler in multiple Wurt recipes. The main ones being 2 berries 2 eggs for jam, and 1 dragon fruit and 3 eggs for dragon pie. I imagine there are more. ▪If you have someone who can trade with pigking, Wurt can turn one merm into 2 gold. ▪You can burn merm houses in Winter in order to get them out their house. They still respawn at the same speed as normal, it is just more involved. I reccomend making a flingo by merms for that reason. ▪Sun fish will end up spoiling even slower in Winter, and ice breams faster in Summer. Keep that in mind. Plus sunfish make you immune to spring. ▪Frogs are neutral to Wurt, and anyone with a disguise. ▪Bonus tips: Having 6 warrior merms following you at all times is very efficent. It costs so little food and they easily deal with most common threats without being intrusive. ▪Wurt has many synergies with most of the cast, the more obscure one being merms leaving behind fish on the battle field for wortox to murder for souls. My favourite being giving Walter a merm disguise so he can actually mine marble feasably. There is one for every character pretty much besides a few. Overall, very nice video which captures what everyone always overlooks for Wurt.

Wurt is so overpowered but not in a way that some other characters would be, but she's so up my speed that I cant stop playing her.

Pig king is by far the best way for wurt to get gold, as wurt does have access to pig king via wonky. The abundance of meat and trinkets really feed into this.

I feel like the best charter for survival is wigfrid like yes at the begging wurt is probably easier but once you get past the point where you really need to worry about food or seasons I feel like fighting is the main reason you would die t least more than the other stuff cause you can always be caught in a bad situation at a wrong time especially somewhere like the ruins and wigfrid is probably better for that cause you wont run out of armor is in genral more bulky with the healing and natural defense and extra damge.

with the new wurt skill tree, I had about 35 merm guards with tier 1 helmets and fully upgraded merm king quest buffs and they were able to solo celestial champion all phases with like 12 of them left alive.

@@9DRK no the mosquitoes are more of a gimmick honestly, not worth the points unfortunately. I just build my merm area and then put a couple spider nests near them. They don’t eat meat and kill them easily, you’ll have so much silk and spider glands you won’t know what to do! Endless healing!

as a Wolfgang main that solely on rushing bosses, Wurt give me another thought in the game and thanks to Wurt i enjoy the constant even more now and explore even more that the constant can offer instead just on killing bosses and stand in my way, I just usually delete and start a new game whenever I'm done killing all the bosses with wolfgang cause i tried wolfgang on late game and building mega base the experience was like MEH what a waste of time but with Wurt tho I learned many things like farming giant crops learning more about the seas like seasonal fish are so OP on Wurt like on spring i have 100 wetness and only thing to counter the cold is the scorching sunfish, I was like this is really good i'll just swap fishes in my bundle wrap when my current fish is about to rot and i learned that fish spoils slower on the hand of Wurt. PS: brightshades and void gears on my wolfgang is not consider as late game. I rushes CC and FW so i have early access to those equipment and i thank Walik and Guille for their wolfgang boss rush strategy i just sorta copying their method. like killing fw without healing, weather pane, bee queen crown and lazy explorer.

Wanda has : -best weapon(you wont probably need any other) -best revival options in multiplayer for her and her allyes.(and even in sigleplayer she still has a really cheap option.) -fastest transportation method.(i can hear you scream "wortox" at the screen , but his teleportation is recharged by fighting or farming and restrained to the surface. Her is potentially infynite use , and can go underground.) -easiest favourite food to mass prouduce.(that is to say honey based meatballs with sanity on the side.) -one way to heal.(still a good way sadly.) -best armour option for middle game shared with maxwell. -more health than maxwell. -*teleports behind you* She gives you no real options. Every alternative is subpare. Every item is the best for the job.

*Wurt is the best Character* Yeah duh Quick side note: using ocean trawlers + merm king, the player can quickly get renewable gold ... there are a few other ways to get renewable gold on all characters which she can acess, but this one is pretty strong and wurt specific (unless you give others the merm mask to trade). Oh also her best veggies are butterfly wings (hp), kelp (hunger) and banana (sanity shakes). These need minimal care. Sure grinding stone fruit or dragonpie works just like a potato but the effort, no. Edit: Almost forgot, expert tips~ Merms can technically be used as a better beefalo making tools, weapons and armor obsolete. By farming bee queen on timer she can use jelly beans to sustain all weather damage without too much concerns.

this is a pretty late reply but what i usually do is make a berry farm before winter and then in winter i harvest one bush when it's necessary, then put it into a crock pot filling the 3 other spaces with ice to make fist full of jam. maybe that also works for you?

the problem with wurt is that shes not the best at anything, maxwell and woodie better at collecting resources,wx and wigfrid are tankier(200 health plus base 25% defense and can get alot more defense with battle rond,blessingsand battle helms) ,webber and maxwell arguably have better allies, her damage output is outclassed by most characters, and her crafting tab doesnt provide shit for the team. shes just ok at almost everything, since the early game of wurt will be a pain because you need to find a swamp to base at and food might be scarce depending on ur luck

Go up against an boss or group of enemies without armor, you're going to die from a single mistake as multiple hit you or stun you long enough for multiple hits. In 1v1 Maxwell can kite like anyone else and be at low risk despite dying in 1 hit or use his shadows. Making use of that extra health isn't ignoring armor like an idiot, it is having armor and taking more hits. Which is pointless as if you're just going to face tank there are multiple survivors who can solve that problem better and have an army.

For someone who wants to rebuilt merm civilization she doesn't really do a good job crafting civilian houses fighters and a king. farming is the best way to get healing. for wurt since if built up you will have an abundance of seeds from the mermking. The easiest crops to grow give you 20 hp if cooked. and are growable pretty much all year.

The problem with this entire summary is it is focused on big number is better, but not if the big number is actually better. Wurt's high health taking hits without armor is nice... but with how quick and easy it is to get a grass suit or log suit why does this matter as fighting with less then a spear isn't recommended. If you're going to blindly face tank there is better then her. Her diet limits her as meat is commonly gotten through doing things. Sure she gets more from veggies and a farm, but what if instead of a farm you got food while doing other things or could eat the Delivery Hounds? Sanity itself is an easy fix, there is tones of options to boost it from eating the right meals to right hats so Wurt's fish is redundant since you should naturally get these materials with time. The thermal fish sound nice, but 256 seconds from the Thermal Stone in winter gets you to Night. In Summer you should be sailing, exploring the caves, or at the oasis. At this point the thermal fish are redundant especially with how material regrowth in the caves work. Having an worse army you have to maintain isn't good for her. Only Wurt and Wortox don't get a free army as everyone else can base near pigs and Webber near spiders. Sure they come back sooner but when exactly are you fight bosses day to day to day and can't afford to waste a day? This isn't to say she is bad, but what makes her good is worse then other people. She is a jack of all trades but has to invest more into what she can do. She can do good like anyone can, but to do equal or better costs more. Yet when she does better it is redundant.

The whole goal of this series to really gauge how it feels to play a character. Rather that trying to compare them to other characters. I simply state reasons why people may end up liking a character. To try and form an understanding between all players. Some people may have reasons why they believe what a character offers isn't that valuable. Like I can see if a person doesn't have the time to play long worlds and build up things slowly may not like wurt. And that's fine enjoy the game as you enjoy it!

(my eng kinda suck)I as a kind of new player i enjoy play her and build my army of fish(i like webber too but she has a bunch of "gimmick" that let me prefer her to him) than play wolfgang and wanda that are no brain character(even wanda if you know what are you doing) but if we talk about food most of case the only food i keep in my inventory are potato(+33 hunger +20 health)for healing since 250 hunger let me go around without actually the think of "i need to eat" instead talking to the termalfish they are actually pretty good if you got 2-3 of each since if you have them in summer you dont need ANY for form of cooling same for winter(so no eyebrella and beefalo hat and NO termal)and for the end have 250 health let me play more chill knowing that i cant die even if i take 2-3 hit without armor because i got distract edit: i prefer a more "grind" style than a "ok let do a boss rush"

Merms are actually good vs all bosses, if you get more than one hundred at a time. She is unreasonably strong like shutting down every boss under 1 min. You only wish there are more challengful bosses in this game that can compare with her massive destruction ability.
