Radish + ryes sounds great. If you could ad a couple tips on Michigan Micro food plots that would be cool ! (20x20ft for example)

My only issue is where I hunt in Southern Ohio, it’s gets pretty hot in summers June-August in the 90’s, so I either frost seed in winter (clover), or broadcast Labor Day or later. Not always successful. I am switching over to mostly clover for cost & ease.

A Clover plot is a producer 80 gallon watering holes at your stand sites may help draw deer on those hot early season days( buy at TSC)They work very well early and during the chasing phase

Good summary. What do you recommend for high browse pressure small plots. Also any thoughts on how to keep turkeys from eating all your seed!

I'd consider planting oats and clover and hinge cutting trees to the ground which will provide hundreds of pounds of woody browse. On top of your resilient clover and oats. Soybeans works too but you need acres to get it established which wouldn't work for small plots. Thanks for asking and best of luck this fall!

I was told to try clover and rye. Is that not a good combination? Enjoyed the video

Clover and Rye are both great choices to grow together they'll need to be mowed so the rye doesn't grow too tall -deer like to eat it when it's right around 8 inches tall it will stop growing 40° and below so if you throw in some radish the deer will have something to eat in the coldest times of deer hunting season will even dog them out of the snow if you're in the northern hemisphere best of luck this season

Understood. Your location will greatly influence what's best for your Deer season. I'd consider putting in some watering holes and fruit trees to compliment your property. kzbin.info/www/bejne/sHeUgmajhNCSgKM

Umm not all clover types are perennial. Better research which are best for your area. What works in Michigan doesn’t always work everywhere else.

You're absolutely right. I was referring to white and red clover. Not crimson. Red clover is a short-lived perennial compared to white clover. Where you live will greatly influence what you grow. . Both good choices. Thanks for sharing.
