5 Comic Books I am Buying RIGHT NOW!!! 1st Haul of 2024!!!

In a world of comic book investing, comic book speculation, FOMO after any new announcement and just spending money on the top 10 list garbage, I am focused on buying key comic books to build an incredible comic book collection 5 books at a time. If you just had these 5 books in your collection you would have a pretty cool eye catching collection in my opinion. These books can be expensive, but if you come up with a plan on how to save up for these you can achieve them. They can also be affordable as well. Cool keys do not have to be expensive keys. Foundational Comic Books is a phrase I came up with to describe Universally Recognizable Key Issues. These are comics books that will increase the overall appeal and value of your collection on a broad basis. Obviously you want to collect what you like, but there are a lot of influential people that will tell you to buy 'Hot Books of the week'. Those comic books are fine, but they might not be recognizable to everyone or increase the value of your collection long term. Be weary when it comes to anyone telling you what you should buy.

I've been picking up those ASM 194s whenever I see a good price on them for a couple years now. One of the few ASM main characters that is still affordable. Still has a lot of room to grow. And that cover makes good copies hard to find. Great pick up there. I'm jealous!

Some idiot got the creator of Pokémon signing on the outside of his slab but.....nobody knows nor care who created it because the history of Pokémon came from Nintendo. Mario isn't gonna signed anything. Just ask yourself this before running out getting an Auto.....who is this person and how many people know this person. I love Christina Ricc but nobody wants her used underwear signed.....what people want is Marilyn Monroe used underwear signed. No Body wants Lonzo Ball signature people want Stephen Curry signature. Bought #194 for 40c on day of release. Bags and boards weren't a major thing then, but it still managed to stay in a very high raw grade for that black cover.

These are the first keys I bought in 2017 when I got back into collecting, in fact I remember buying x-men 266 at my LCS and thought “ I just bought my first key!” Inever get tired of seeing them. That ASM 194 looks sharp too!

The newspaper amazing spider man from the 2000s are a great addition to any collection they are a reprint of the original asm I think there are 20 issues in all and they aren't that expensive.

Great Additions to your collection. Our store has, or had, all of these raw, or graded, over the past month. I’m not working today, so I’ll test my memory here… We sold Gambit’s first appearance raw (high grade) for $249.99. We sold Black Cat’s first appearance graded. I can’t recall the grade or for how much. We currently have Secret Wars 8 raw in high grade for, I believe, $149.99, Cable’s first appearance graded in the 9’s and Rogue’s first appearance in mid-grade for $49.99 or $59.99, I believe. Don’t quote me, but I think these are the numbers. In any case, great finds. Happy New Year! 🎉🙏

Those are foundational books for a reason. Not a bad one in the bunch. ASM 194 is one of those books I often see where the price & grade of the raw copies don't quite line up. I secured a CGC 7.5 about a year ago at a fair price, but it took a substantial amount of vigilance in monitoring auctions for the right deal.

Always surprised by the difference in prices between the UK & USA for the same comics. Sold my ASM 194 cgc OW-W 9.4 in November 2023 for just under £500 , then pulled my 9.8 WP last week after nothing but low ball offers.

Have the secret wars 8 cgc 9.8 New mutants 87 and 98 in CGC 9.8 and yes in the 90s the 87 was more expensive then the 98
