For anyone getting a MANUAL model with the LS3 engine, the engine is overall reliable, but there’s issues like the power steering pump on the 10-12 models. Aside from that, the factory (GM/AC Delco) clutch hydraulics suck ass. There’s really no upgrade that lasts long term, although you can opt for them if you absolutely feel like trying them out or prefer them over the stock parts (ex: Tick Performance, RAM, Monster clutches, Ideal Garage, etc.). The clutch slave cylinder is 50% of your clutch hydraulics, and is located INSIDE of the trans bell housing; meaning the trans and some drivetrain parts have to be removed/dropped in order to be replaced. You will most likely be stranded if your clutch master or slave cylinder goes out (or both!). Best thing unfortunately, is to stick to factory GM and AC Delco branded parts. The clutch hydraulics are seen to cut costs, which is probably why they’re so problematic across most GM manual cars (V8 or not). You can most definitely also upgrade the clutch and flywheel kit, and stuff like the clutch fluid and clutch line. All of those will help a ton, and they don’t lose performance as much as the stock clutch hydraulic parts.. The Tremec TR-6060 transmission is also kind of a “hit and miss”… The 10-11 Camaro SS manual models got the synchronizers and some other unrevised gearbox parts, prior to 2012-2015. The output shaft on the manual trans from the 2010 SS V8 models is also known to be defective/faulty, although GM has been known to hide the truth from what the defective part or parts actually were… The factory rear axle differential is kinda picky, but not too much in being inherently problematic. You have to stick to limited slip specific GL-5 gear oils, usually adding EXTRA LS additive.. If not and you accidentally use plain gear oil, the rear diff will chatter and make noise like crazy; which does NOT get better as you drive and warm up the rear diff… You simply have to experiment with certain gear oil brands and see which one works, and which one works mostly, but will require some additional additives…

I took my Dad to get a new 1ss Camaro with the LS3 M/T. It was a screaming deal at $33k so how the hell can you not buy that, lol. When he got too old to drive the manual, he let me have it to drive for a while and I had the option to buy it cheap. I would up passing on it mainly because the ergonomics made me feel very uncomfortable and my wife throught so as well. The clutch had that clothespin spring that released like a compound bow right at the worst moment (probably added by the legal team), and the weight somehow managed to make even the LS3 feel soggy at low RPM's (compared to my Corvette). It's a stout package and I'm a big fan of Camaro's and Corvettes, but this one wasn't for me. It did rip like nobody's business when it hit the engine's powerband and alawys wanted to shatter past the rev limiter. I recall he had headers and a tune from Janetty.

Complaints ,,, really ,,, I have a 2021 1LT Coupe and before I bought the vehicle I checked and compared ( against a 2021 Mustang ). First of all why would anyone knowing what the back seat is like ( space / comfort ) purchase the car then complain afterwards ,, simply defies logic ,,does it not ? Key fob ,, not a problem I'm familiar with, when you buy a new Camaro, Chevrolet provides you with two key fobs. Gas cap breaks ,, I have the black package in my Camaro and I will have traded my blue beauty long before I reach 112,000 km. ( 70,000 miles ). Bad visibility ,,, surely one is well aware of the visibility ( or lack of it ) prior to buying the car ,, buy the car then complain afterwards ,, again, defies logic. I certainly can't speak to the issues regarding air conditioning as my Camaro is 2021. In the event that anyone may be interested ,, my 1LT Camaro compared to a Ford Mustang ,, my Camaro is finished in Riverside Blue Metallic, the engine is V6 ( great engine ), I have a ten speed auto. transmission with paddle shifters, I have the RS package. I have run flat 20" tires on polished steel mags, the upgraded infotainment centre etc. I thoroughly compared this vehicle against a comparably equipped Mustang and it was a totally no brainer in the choice so dollar for dollar the Mustang was $ 4836.90 more expensive ,, I still say who would buy a " muscle " car with a four cylinder engine like this Mustang had. The Mustang had a bit better visibility ( not by much ) and it did have more rear seat legroom. The Camaro was finished much nicer ( according to my wife ) the Mustang was equipped with 18" wheels and had a eight speed auto. transmission. Without question when it came to bang for the buck the Camaro was miles ahead ,, you can sure buy a hell of a lot of gas for $ 4836.90 ,, I love our Camaro ,,
