I would, especially with the miles. 6l80's arent known to be the best with power. You need a good tuner.

Wow that’s unfortunate. I was looking at buying a 5th gen ss but i’ve heard that the automatic one has a lot of problems. Not only the transmission but the AFM system causing engine failure.

@@bbc_junior4863 yes, I’m very upset car only has 31k miles too. I bought a new trans to be installed in the following week. Costing me 7k.;/. 5th is good if you get a manual.

all 5th gen manuals are the tremec tr6060 and the automatics are the 6l80e

I think my dad just got this 5th gen but whenever he pulls the gears slips and take forever to get into the next he has to let go of gas I believe which trans should I buy and should I buy a better clutch or what do I do to help him with this Tran problem

Definitely get a rebuilt trans with better clutches to handle the power of the Camaro. The stock 6l80e struggles to hold anything above 500 torque. Some say you can get up to 650 but that’s really lucky. It could be a stuck solenoid, try changing the trans fluid and then see what happens. I put a new trans with better clutches and it still was having slipping issues. That’s the main reason I sold mine. The 6l80 is expensive to replace and doing a full swap is 10k plus

Idk if you bought it already but but I bought a 2010 ss with the auto trans and the engine blew. I had it rebuilt and now the transmission is slips and kicks every time I slow down

I sold the car but it was BTR Stage 2 cam, intake, long tube headers catless, borla atak catback.

Mmmmh it hard to say. I would stay away from headers and just do a cat back exhaust. Also make sure you change your transmission fluid regularly
