I have non alcoholic cirrhosis of my liver. I live by THESE rules : 1. Never take any prescription without asking my Hepatologist first. 2. As far as vitamins or supplements, I do my own research online to ask if the supplement will harm my liver. Remembering back to when I was diagnosed, I remember being told to never use any kind of pain medication. I also cannot use Vicks Vaporub. And I especially am not to eat cinnamon……..UNLESS it is Ceylon cinnamon, since the common cassia cinnamon is toxic to the liver. 7-25-2024

@carol So glad you wrote this. I don't understand why the FDA allows cassia producers to call their product cinnamon. I believe most folk don't know this.

@@katiedid1851 Well…..to ME, cinnamon is cinnamon, Katie. Until my health issues, I had never heard of Ceylon cinnamon. I dearly love cinnamon, but even with Ceylon, my doctor has limited my amount. Since it is supposed to be helpful for diabetes, I chose to buy the Ceylon is capsules, and am not to take but two capsules per day. …..because of my liver. So, evidently, even though Ceylon, it STILL affects the liver. So, when eating out, I just stay away from cinnamon products.❤️

Had hep b in 70's herion and methamphetamine..perscriptions too.Hep C for decades..on all adicted p..harma's and methadone plus illicit.My liver enzphms shot up after p perification rundown using very high amounts of vit c and niacin. Now at 71 i have healthy liver but a dilated bile duct. I took neorontin for decades gave me stomach aneurysm I have it now and get it checked every year. Our bodies will often heal but only after honoring thy temple. I overcame 4 decades of methadone..all addictive drugs. I have a little channel.

How come my ALT and AST are 5/3 higher than normal, when the ultrasound of the liver looks perfect. 6 months now like this. Came off Fluoxetine 2 months ago. Dr thinks I’m allergic to it.

Doc gud a.m. I have gallstone problem. Doc. said it's very dangerous for me to under go a major operat- ion. because due to old age 75 years old, I have heart problem. Atheromatous aourta, prosta- tate problem. Benign prosta- tic hypertrophy with concretions. I intake Orphenadrine citrate - 650 mg with Doc's prescription, when pain occure. question: Do this drug have side-effect to my internal - organs? espe- cially to my gall stones? Amoxicillin Clavulanate is the only antibiotic I have ever taken. I only take Paracetamol for headaches and pain. I did not know that Amoxicillin can damage the liver.😮

Being under our Dr's care is enough to know what is safe and not, so less scaremongering to people that already have excess anxiety when you don't have the FULL FACTS.
