Hello Sir, Thank you for the knowledge. Can you teach us how to shoot good portraits with smaller aperture like f9 or siimilar? As most of the portraits look good with shallow depth of field but without f1.8 lens it is hard to attain good images.

Great video and Compositional Techniques Pye! Love the Negative Space one, I came across it first in the late 80's with the Photography of French Designer Thierry Mugler who photographed his clothes and more often than not he used negative space. Thanks ADORAMA for having great profesionals like Pye in your channel!

Great tips! My question is what is your approach to photographing strangers? Do you provide them with your info to obtain or purchase the photos, or do you just tell them it's for your portfolio?

In the Natural Framing shoot you used a Profoto A10? and had an attachment on it. What was the attachment and where can I purchase it AND I also liked the handle you use as well. Where can I purchase that as well. Thanks

I have a mirror over my fireplace in my new studio. It's about 3'x4'. I'm not sure how it will work with my flash going off and I'm trying to get creative on covering it. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

for me, regardless of compositing techniques i know, it's always _time_ or _timing_ that matters more. it's because when i taking shots from some of my subjects, they actually don't have time for a photoshoot so i must act fast. at this time, i even barely think about composition techniques like those mentioned; i must get their good-looking shots in extremely short time (from less than a minute to five minutes), so most of the shots, while looked decent and 'theoretically correct', they looked kinda generic. i still have problems on how we can bring up those creative thoughts or techniques given the small amount of time (unless the subject is willing to give more time), so i often forgot these techniques exist. but i'll work on it

How do you approach strangers and ask to photograph them? What reason do you give for photographing them, do you have them sign a release, and do you send them copies of the photos you take?

Question is everyone always friendly to have their photo taken? I'd love to walk around and shoot people but in my country people are so sensitive about their picture being taken unless they initiated the photo shoot. sigh!.. I love all the ideas shared thanks again.

Meh, these compositional techniques are just basic stuff. If you really want to level up your photography game, you gotta push the boundaries and think outside the box. Experiment, innovate, and make your own rules instead of following the crowd. That's how you truly master your craft.
