I was just watching one of your vids about ledger wallets, in the vid you suggested viewers subscribe so I did. I've also got a question for you. Let's say someone was running a btc node with a 12 words wallet code. And that node hadn't been updated for a while and a person did not want to wait for that node to update, could a person enter the 12 word seed phrase into ledger and recreate the node wallet? Thanks for any thoughts.
@adamventure Жыл бұрын
Awesome glad to have you on board! You could do that but it defeats the purpose of a hardware wallet since that was likely created on software exposed to the internet. You're better off waiting and creating a new seed phrase from your Ledger only

@@adamventure Right but my node is a couple of years behind and will take weeks to sync. So in your opinion, i could restore a bitcoin core node wallet using a 12 word seed phrase, onto a ledger ?
@philpot3478 Жыл бұрын
@@adamventure the bitcoin core wallet is version 0.15.1
@adamventure Жыл бұрын
@@philpot3478 I mean yes but at that point just use a regular software wallet, you wont get any benefit from doing that on a hardware wallet

@@adamventure Thanks, the harddrive on my old laptop isn't big enough to download the entireblockchain, so i have to move the btc on the node wallet. I ordered another ledger for a backup to my existing one, but before making it into a copy I was going to restore my bitcoin core wallet on the new ledger if it is compatible with a 12 word btc core wallet. Then once the btc were removed from btc node wallet, revamp new ledger into a backup? Thanks for any further input

Do you have your Trezor connected to Exodus? I want to get cold storage (only use exodus) but was considering the Stax.. I know it doesn't integrate with Exodus so I'm wondering if it would be easier for me to use Trezor instead and just have those 2 - What I don't understand fully is if moving coins to Trezor from Exodus, will I still be able to see my balances or will they disappear from Exodus when I move them to Trezor?
@adamventure Жыл бұрын
I didn't before but I just set it up just to double check for you! It's basically a read only mode for your Trezor addresses. So you can view what's on them and receive, but you can't approve transactions. To migrate everything you will need to send them from your Exodus address to your Trezor address, but you can link the two so you can still see your portfolio (just can't interact with it). If you're dead set on using Exodus only then your only is Trezor. But if you're open to alternatives, Ledger Live is a solid contender

Great content! Can you transfer crypto from coinbase wallet to your ledger without being hosed on fees?

What’s your thoughts on the recent ledger move on crypto recovery
@adamventure Жыл бұрын
I think it got blown a little out of proportion due to lack of understanding how hardware wallets work. All hardware wallets fundamentally function the same way, its not just a Ledger thing. That said, the company did a horrible job with the announcement and I also think that Ledger Recover service is a huge waste of money

Appreciate your response, I plan to keep my crypto on ledger. Your content is always well received thank you.

Could you please show us a way to transfer Hbar from coinbase to ledger nano x? Thank You
@adamventure Жыл бұрын
HBAR can be a little tricky since you might need a HBAR specific wallet, but generally you can follow this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fHqxknWZpJaMldU

Is TW safe to access large amounts? They say its not open source, hence what they may do with Pvt Keys is not verifiable plus we are gonna trust TW team on the fact that keys are on device only. This may be true till the time these are not …. which we may know after its too late. Can you kindly advise on this? Many Thanks.

can you make a video how to save fees on transactions? or it is possible? ? .. btw. you said it 8 times i think .
@adamventure Жыл бұрын
It's not really possible unfortunately, its just the nature of crypto. Some exchanges were covering transfer fees during the last bull run, but times are tough now and a lot of them got rid of that. You best bet is to stick to cheap networks, batch transactions (if you can), or keep crypto on exchanges (but that's not ideal in these times)

Maybe u can do another video for blockchain specific mobile wallets cuz there's a few out there that supports hardware wallets

Is it better to keep these wallets on a device that is not always connected to the Internet so it's extra safe. Or is it safe to keep them on you're daily mobile 📱
@adamventure Жыл бұрын
Using them to your daily mobile device is safe enough assuming you have the proper security setup (you don't lose your phone, both the phone and apps are password protected, etc.). Of course having a separate device would be safer, but not everyone can swing that

Thank you for the info! Cronos is an EVM blockchain so MetaMask will work with it. It runs on Cosmos (Ethermint) which is where some confusion might pop up
