It ran a little long because of trying to make it entertaining and poke fun at myself for the failed “holes will make it a lot lighter” concept

I was attracted by the Jayhawk you displayed in your workshop. I am one of the Jayhawks in Seoul, Korea. I am retired, interested in woodwork. Your videos are inspiring. The world is indeed getting smaller.

Although, I appreciated the abridged version of the 5-cut method, the "like" I'm giving this is really all about your presentation of the 34 holes. I guess the overall design deserves an honorable mention, as well. Those holes just kinda stole the show.

After using your sled for about a year, give us an update on whether it stayed flat. I think with the holes, the torsional rigidity is reduced. I have made numerous sleds and used the William Ng method to align them. They are in good alignment only for a short period of time due to changes in temperature and humidity along with banging them around during normal usage. I am not saying don't do the sophisticated alignment but be aware that you will periodically have to realign the sled. Write the date of the most recent alignment on a piece of painter's tape.

What's the going rate for a Brooklyn Bridge SWG? Maybe you'd like to trade for the beautiful oceanfront lot in Tennessee I've got on the market? Call me? 🤣🤣🤣😁😎 Best, Matt Wondering if you ever use a 1/16" roundover bit for cleaning up edges like the 34/68 3/4" holes in your crosscut sled? I put the small bit in a Bosch Colt router... makes VERY quick work of things like that.
@SmallWorkshopGuy5 жыл бұрын
Hey, Matt, you must have noticed some minor similarities to the language in your Board Stretcher video - but at maybe the 2% level, But you definitely provided the inspiration. I don't have a 1/16 round over bit, but maybe I can quickly go to my Bookmark in my browser labeled "Matt Jackson Amazon link" and get one of those delivered tomorrow - you think! Nice hearing from you.
