Your fingerpicking was awesome, when I practice I start with day 1, move up the ladder, then pick a few songs I've been working on and trying first strumming, your strumming 7 day series ,then 2nd time fingerpicking. You're series are just awesome, and just love your teaching style!

You are a fantastic teacher. I have owned a ukulele for almost 2 weeks and after watching your videos, I am feeling so confident that buying one was the right choice. I am spending all my free time playing on it and it's improved my mental health so much. Everyone is amazed how fast I have progressed, myself included! I love your teaching style, thank you for everything. :)

This series has been great. I've been through it twice and plan to go through it a few more times. Where I'd really appreciate going from here is, "integrating fingerpicking with chords - how does one mix the two in a song, such as Joni Mitchell's 'Circle Game'?" Something along that line. Thanks for this great series!

Absolutely loved this fingerpicking course Kevin. You are such a good teacher, thank you so much. As a beginner I found them all challenging but with slow repetition very do-able and enjoyable. It would be great to learn some simple songs with tabs and also maintenance of our ukes would be helpful. Very best wishes to you and your family and all my fellow uke players all around the World. Kevin, thank you! I love finger picking patterns. I use the ones I new from acoustic guitar but I would not say I am advanced. Not a beginner though. I found the second class easier than the first. But the third pattern will have me studying it for a little longer to get the grip. But it is the most beautiful one! Thank you so much!

I can play some cords, I can do some strumming. I can count and do cords and strumming. All at beginner level. I cannot put lyrics to cords and strumming. I really have a hard time singing the lyrics with the cords and strumming. I don’t know if it will come or a series would be worth creating showing how to sing and play. I appreciate all your efforts. Many thanks.

Just joining in today, 10/5/2020. Really appreciate the clarity of explanation with just enough detail before jumping in to practice picking. A little challenging for me at first as I just purchased a new Kala baritone uke of Ziricote wood, which is tuned DGBE. You are teaching to GCEA so I have to use fingerings that are different just to make it sound in tune with you. That's ok, because I must adjust. I'm getting there. Great lessons. I look forward to more. Thanks.

Hi! I enjoyed this series - it was easy to follow. I know you mentioned briefly about applying these to songs, but I was hoping you could give a couple ideas. There are some songs that come to mind with these patterns - such as “Hallelujah” by Leonard Cohen, obviously - but when I go to apply these picking patterns to those chords, it just doesn’t work. Too many repetitious notes. Also, would you usually use the same picking pattern for an entire song? Would you even necessarily pick for the whole song, or do you intersperse some strumming as well? I apologize if these questions have already been asked, but there are way too many comments to read through! Thanks again for creating the series.

Uke maintenance and barre chord series would both be awesome. Would also be great if you expanded on some of the previous series by doing series intermediate strumming, fingerpicking, ect to grow on some of the foundational stuff we've learned in so far in these series videos. They dont have to be as long, maybe 3 parts rather than the usual 5+.

Thanks so much, Kevin, for a great finger picking series which I have just completed. I will, of course, have to keep practicing daily in order to make it part of my muscle memory. What I would really like to have Kevin, is a number of tunes which I can play with finger picking and then I can add those to my list of songs to play with more than just strumming, if you know what I mean. I would be fabulous to create a series for fingerpicking which would be songs to be played by fingerpicking in all those patterns that you have taught. We could all then just go to those songs when we want to play for someone in a picker picking style. What do you say? And you could also create more series, with actual songs, for the other lessons that you have already taught, such as blues, etc. We need a bunch, beyond just Chicago blues. I dying to see how to apply these things directly to some great songs, which you could teach. Thanks.

Excellent series Kevin, I very much enjoy learning and practicing your lessons. I went throught the whole series of "Step up your strumming" "Ukulele Kichstart" and "Fingerpicking". Your teaching is the best I found for myself after serious research. Even after finishing each of the courses, I go back to practice through every series, and here is a suggestion: Let's take "Step Up Your Strumming" 7 lessons course as an example. I wish there was an additional lesson called "Revision lesson" where I could find the top cord sequences from lesson One to lesson Seven. That would be so practical and helpful! Thanks again Kevin and keep up the great work!!!

I would remove my picking hand from the equation and solely practice that chord change with your fretting hand for a while. Practice landing with all of your fingers at once since there are no shared fingers to pivot with. Once you get comfortable with the chord change then slowly introduce the picking pattern. Hope this helps Robert - thanks for learning with me - Kevin
