This was incredibly easy to understand! I’m struggling with the assignment of fingers to string, if I stop focusing on it, I resort back to just using my pointer finger.

I love this - I fingerstyle almost everything but only have a few patterns I regularly use and I like to mix it up xx
@LizzieDeanMakes6 жыл бұрын
Both the patterns I use are for all 4 strings, because I heard that then it works with all chord patterns without losing any nuance - usually I do 4231 or I pluck 4 and 1 together on beat one, as then pick 321 on the remaining 3 beats. Do you encounter many songs that don’t work with 3 string patterns like these? I wonder if Am is the only real problem chord? Maybe I shouldn’t worry so much about using every string when finger styling xxx

I like the way you teach ... have u created a series where you take a simple melody like twinkle twinkle little star and show step by step process in choosing what jazz chords u could use to jazz it up. Im looking for a method so i can take any melody and create my own arrangements. Do you know anyone online who teaches this and can show examples of their own arrangements.. thanks phil

@@screbbels so you cant play songs that use the fourth string?
@recklessmermaid4 жыл бұрын
Gr8 Voltage you can play them, you just have to incorporate the 4th string in your pattern when you play that chord. Or, you could understand what note is being sounded on the 4th string in that chord and play it on one of the other 3 strings. I know this sounds confusing I’m just learning myself but that’s what I’d do. Hope it makes sense.
