I drove about 32 miles off the highway to get to Swansea ghost Town mine. This place was just so amazing and interesting. There was just so much history here.
Hi, I’m john and I’m 69 years old living full-time out of my jeep Cherokee XJ Livin, the dream.
Buy me a beer. 🍺

Thank you for sharing the history of the old mining camp. Our forefathers went through hardships many of us can't even fathom in todays world, for us to just exist today.

You are definitely right I don’t think anybody could comprehend how tough life was in that time. You’re working in very very dangerous situations and during the summer you have months and months of temperatures around 120°.

Yes, it does. There are so many abandoned mining towns here in the desert. Just so much history everywhere.

Wow. Nice secluded spot. That's the beauty of living out of just a jeep. Looks like you had plenty of interesting things to do

Absolutely amazing area. If only that place could talk. The guys that worked those mines must have been some tough hombres. Great video John. Thanks for taking us through this ghost town and its history.

These people in the early 1900s were extremely tough. I can’t imagine working 1000 feet down in the ground with no safety measures. And in the summertime here it’s 120°. Don’t forget about the miner that worked in the Yukon in Canada in winter time.

Hey Robert, I love my Starlink. It came in very useful at this place. As I start to migrate north, it gets harder to find a campsite with a cell phone signal. It’s a good piece of mind knowing anywhere I am at I can get on the Internet.

It might be really fun to use a metal detector to find something interesting. Thanks again for another great video. Mark from Maryland

It definitely would be pretty cool to use a metal detector there, but it is a historic site so I don’t think it’s allowed.

Hey John you might want to get down there and do some prospecting, copper prices are very high! Dabals scrap yard in Garfield nj is paying $3.55 per pound for bare bright copper wire right now!!!
