Wow, thanks for this terrific vicarious experience at a place where I've always wanted to check out. What's the most startling is the absence of trees. I did watch the whole thing, but honestly I never noticed a single tree.

This came out on my birthday and I enjoyed every minute of it. Cool video, kinda cool how the sun there goes up to about 10 degrees to the horizon then slides around then goes back down. I was there in January a few years back via a military C130 to gas and go and at noon the sun was barely at 8 degrees above the horizon.

Yeah, when we were there (October) the days were pretty short. Sunrise wasn't until after 8:30 or so and it was down by 4:30. At least it made it really easy to get up in time for sunrise every day, haha. I bet it's even weirder in June when the sun is only down between midnight and 3AM :0

Hi, Shawn ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Awesome and amazing travel adventure to Iceland, beautiful scenery and amazing views. My Dad was stationed in Iceland back in the early 40,s protecting the oil fields. I hope one day that you and Sara, Mike and Danielle can travel to Patagonia, awesome mountains to climb there’s even a swing bridge that is over a gorge where you can view a glacier as you cross to climb up to amazing an amazing summit, plus you can take a boat trip up the lake to view the glaciers ( bucket- list ). Thanks for sharing, enjoy and have a Great weekend !!! Danny

I am now sadly addicted to the Icelandic yogurt. to bad there is no BONUS PIG store around here. Now stop being a slacker and come back up to the Catskills :) i found a place that serves burgers of epic proportions, you literally have to roll your eyes back into your head like a shark to bite into it. My wife and I will be hiking Croatia next, I hope one day my videos get better. jay creature

Awesome video, man! Glad you guys made it up to the lighthouse in Vik. I caught some stellar shots of some puffins hanging off of that cliff overlooking the black sand beach, and that particular spot inspired one of my first paintings. It's true that we never get too old for hiking, because the older I get, I'll always see or hear about someone older doing amazing things like hiking or biking up Mt. Washington. It matters not how fast they reached the peak, but what matters is that they did it or at least tried.

NO! It was the one thing I wanted to see, too. We attempted to go to the middle of nowhere to see it every night (7 nights), but Iceland was busy having the most rain it's had since 1975. Funny, this is the second comment saying that. Although, at the bar in Reykjavik, I swear I saw them serving Brennivin in the same exact same ceramic vessels. I've also read that many parts of Europe consider a "shot" to be about 2/3's the size of an American size shot - so who knows, maybe the Icelander's prefer their eggs with a little unsweetened caraway flavored schnapps?

+funnybeingme Yes, it was pretty easy to come by. We got a giant size can right at the Bonus that we did our grocery shopping at.

Hi sintax77 i've been following you for some time now. I hope that you will visit my country again and do it properly. What you guys saw were only glimpses of what Iceland (not Reykjavík) has to offer.

Did you come to a conclusion on the Vodka? Lower proof, watered down, or colder freezer? Thanks for the tour.
@sintax77

I think the freezer was just super cold. From what I could find, 80 proof vodka will actually freeze at -11°F (-24°C), so my thought is that the vodka may have been closer to the actual freezer element than the Brennivin, or that the Brennivin has some properties that gives it a lower freezing point.

I was thinking maybe the vodka was a lower proof. Not sure if you mentioned that it was 80 proof in the vid. Thanks for your vids man. Because your Dolly Sods video, I went. Probably heading back there next year. This year we're going to Red River Gorge. Hike on!

Yeah, that made for quite an interesting science experiment. We should have brushed up on our Icelandic before going shopping, haha.
