I've wanted you, Rach and your lovely (and as usual, extremely well behaved) children to do a cruise for ages! I was really interested to see Rach's experience with me being a fellow Fibro warrior, and my hubby and I have toyed with the idea of a cruise, but not knowing how I would cope. With all the cruise KZbin channels that I have watched, nobody has ever taken it from a health/mobility perspective. Plus also the added benefit of your brilliant dry wit analysis you add into all of your work. It looks like you all managed to enjoy your time, even with the changeable weather, but what I loved most is that out of all the activities there was onboard, what you all said was a highlight is the time you spent together as a family. Those are the memories that you will all cherish forever. X

It's because of that dang Christmas hymn: "No-el, No-el, No-el, No-el / Born is the King of Israel..." Just doesn't have the same ring when it's "Nole, Nole, Nole, Nole..." Not at all saying Noel's name pronunciation is particularly odd (it's pretty much 'Joel' with an 'N', after all); it's just that many people, or at least many Americans, only ever hear it in the context of that song.

This is the best thing I've ever seen..and i want to tell everyone why You Noel, in general shatter all excuses I've heard my mom and dad have had for decades. Excuses for not daring to break out of the comfortable shell that is daily life. Literally wining about it. This is further proven by the belly flop competition. A bunch of normal people/dads that put themselves out there, living their life. You know... actually DOING IT! Not just sitting at home, at work, having a midlife crisis.. which is just a hint that you are NOT doing what you actually want to do. Truly.. You, you're family and that belly flop competition made me really happy!

I've done a fair few cruises now. The trick is to get the excursions booked before you get on board or at worst, do it as soon as you get on board. Being on board the entire time, you might want to consider doing a repositioning cruise. These are usually like 20+ days at sea, and well worth it if you like being on board more than visiting places.

Ya'll made me laugh with how apprehensive you are feeling about cruising. It is the best way to get anywhere when you're not in a hurry. As and FYI, if you are ever feeling queasy from the motion or rocking of the ship, NEVER EVER stay in your room because there is a lack of depth perception and will make you feel even worse. Always go out up on deck to the back (stern) of the ship where the stability is greater. I learned this on my first cruise and I've been on 8 of them. I love it and enjoyed your video.

Loved this vlog Noel and glad you got to spend quality time with your lovely family ❤️ As someone else has said, it was great seeing cruising through fresh eyes of people that have never been on one before. Yes, cruising isn’t for everyone, you either love it or you don’t. We are just about to go on our 13th cruise in March from Singapore to Sydney and are just as excited about it as we were about our 1st one on the Sun Princess way back in 2009 🥰 Cruise experiences also differ depending on the cruise company, Royal Caribbean are more family oriented, plus their ships are huge. Our favourite cruise line is Princess, their ships tend to be a bit smaller and have less passengers, so you don’t seem to get the crowds as much. We are like you as unless there is a port that we are really interested in visiting, or we have never been to before, we usually get off and have a wander, but we also love just staying on the ship and enjoying it ❤️ I hope you do give cruising another go in the future, maybe try another cruise line to compare, plus, now that you live in the US, you are spoilt for choice with cruises and destinations and compared to what we pay for a cruise fare in Australia, you can get very good deals in the US 👍 Keep up the great work Noel, you are fabulous 🥰❤️😘😘

My partner has mobility issues, and it's the easiest way for us to travel. If you take another cruise, and if you didn't do so this time, most ships have an accessible cabin, which may help Rach. They usually have wider doors, ramps into the cabin and bathroom, and an accessible bathroom, with shower seat, etc.

They were fun, and not too terribly expensive. We love the getaway, unplug, relax aspect of cruising.

Omg hysterical seeing you out of your element. I too have only done one cruise in my life but my heart is in the sky. But great seeing you and the family all together 👍 Your sailing terminology was hysterical calling the gangway a JET-bridge thingy 😂 PS. Now that you live in America 🇺🇸 it’s called a vacation 😂 Christmas is a holiday 😂 Bon Voyage 🛳️ ✌️✈️

I've been on one cruise in my life - a 7 day cruise from Ft Lauderdale to the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico when I was 15. It was plenty of fun, but I wouldn't do it again. When I travel I'm all about exploring the place I visit and immersing myself in the local culture, and a cruise doesn't give you opportunity to do that. I also don't like being nickel-and-dimed to death.

We took the same cruise, same deck, in December. Weather was cooler for us, but still had a great time. Your video really captured the cruise experience very well. Thank you!

You confirmed all of the reasons I wouldn't go on a cruise Your pain is my gain Thanks

I could be wrong, but you hate Las Vegas or the equivalent as well.

Voyager is a good mid-sized ship to start off on. We loved cruising before we had kids and love it more now we do. We've only sailed with Royal Caribbean "Loyal to Royal" and all that. We sailed E & W Caribbean, E & W Med, and Baltic Sea and always had an amazing time. Big ships, small ships, it's all fantastic and glad you had a good time. Nice to see you dressed correctly for dinner, well done sir.

I just had a cruise with Royal Carribean in December (Odyssey of the Seas). Similarly, my #1 complaint was the amount of people, especially unruly children. However, next time, I highly recommend doing some shore excursions if you can. I did one in Jamaica, and while it was still pretty touristy, I got to get a really good look at the country and it's culture. (Also got to try some jerk chicken and it was divine). When push comes to shove though, I'd rather fly somewhere and do a trip at my own pace. Cruises are REALLY expensive, and for around the same price, I could probably spend a week or two in Europe (especially the U.K., I've been there 4 times now and it has been some of my favorite trips ever).

Yes, cruises are pricy, but remember that you get all your accommodations, meals, and many of your activities for that price. And you don’t have to pack up every time you go to another destination. I recommend using an old fashioned travel agent for booking cruises; they can often get you good deals.

It is actitivies that I loathe... too many of them with too many people and formal dining can just go **** itself... not dressing up to eat food, shows, casino's, shopping all utterly garbage activities

@@frederickvondinkerberg7721 Formal nights are a lot less formal than they used to be, unless you go on a really high end line (such as Cunard). Most times a blazer and khakis are enough for men; you don’t need a tuxedo or even a suit.

Went on our 1st Caribbean Cruise in 2010 on the Costa Atlantica and absolutely loved it. Been on 7 cruises so far with another one around the Canaries planned for November. Can't beat them for all-round entertainment - especially the quizzes.

I have friends that cruise three or four times a year and sometimes more. They have been trying for years to get me on a cruise and I tell them no for one simple reason. If I am on vacation and walk around that ship and decide I want to get off-I CAN't! That is the reason, I don't want to be anywhere I don't want to be. Been there, done that.

why would you want to get off? Let's not forget you are in port almost every day discovering a new country/culture. Whilst on board you have fantastic service, quality food, and entertainment. You make it sound like a detention centre/prison etc

I was on a cruise once and saw some pax left behind at one port-of-call because they didn't get back on the ship in time. Carnival doesn't fool around in that regard. I know it would have been expensive but there are lots of shore excursions - both sponsored by the cruise line and some that aren't. Noticed you didn't talk about any of those. i was on an eastern Caribbean cruise and when we docked at St. Maarten, I took a cab to the Maho beach and spent the day watching planes land just barely over the fence.
