5 DAYS Overnight Camp in Primitive Bushcraft Shelter! | Catch and Cook MASSIVE BACON Fried CRAPPIE

The Wooded Beardsman

The Wooded Beardsman

Күн бұрын

I team up with Zach Fowler and Alex Peric for an overnight adventure on a frozen lake in Vermont. We fish for perch, crappie and bass in order to put together a catch and cook right on the lake over an open fire under a primitive bushcraft tarp shelter cut into a rock face. My Gear (Shop and Support): www.thewoodedb...
Striker Brand Outerwear: strikerbrands....
Zach Fowler: / @fowlersmakeryandmischief
Alex Peric: / apbassing
I catch a huge 15" trophy crappie through the ice using a mini icefishing rod.
I rustle up a campfire for cooking over using a cast iron. I combine a trophy size crappie fish with bacon to make an awesome shore lunch, right on the lake. This is winter camping survival challenge at it's finest!

I don't know why people have a problem accepting that it takes money to produce these videos, not just money but a substantial amount of time editing and producing the videos. They are also going out and generating content for you the viewer. I say use every sponsor you feel represent you and your content the best. Attaboy to Zach for getting a good sponsor.

I was the butcher at spago a long time ago and developed the best way to scale fish Chris. I just do it submerged, I fill my clean butcher sink with water and hold the fish under, the scales diapers in the water without becoming airborne. When I drain the water the scales all gather in a neat pile to be discarded. I’ve done it in bucket too... cheers my bro! 😃😃😃

I can relate to the snow suit. It being your dad's and all. Never really knew how much the little things in life mean till there gone. I lost my dad and every thing that he used or worked/fished/hunted/or wore (hats, hunting vest/fishing poles/guns/knives ECT.) I keep close to the heart and still use. But as far and getting new you guys need and deserve it and should use it to its fullest. Good job guys and good luck. God bless and thanks.

Tbh, imma miss that old snow suit. Most people hate on the purple, but with your bright orange beard, its a great contrast. It looks good, but it is a bit old, even if it still works. Always good to upgrade at some point. Love that fact you're handing it down to your son though. It may last much longer, and if not, it's got its fair use. Love the vids, Always. Keep up the great content, even if it can be controversial. Even those videos are fun to watch. Would love to see you do more with Zach and Alex, and if you can, bring Jeremy along for the ride. You all would make for some great content!

To improve hook sets, bend the bottom of your hook to the left or right. it sets better and holds on longer. Tried it, done it. It works every time. To test it, pull a straight hook through your closed hand, the try to pull a twisted hook through a closed hand. You will see.

Something that you learn. From years of fishing. Is trout almost become totally dormant. During the winter months.. I dont even try for them until March and I stop fishing for them in October.. that's when the rivers and streams are fish able for winter steelhead.. and honestly I only have good luck for steelhead September thru November. And I have good luck in streams for dolly's and steelhead. March thru april... but yeah good luck with your winter small trout fishing.
