Great video man ,I'm from Aztec NM and everyone I meet when I work out of town thinks it's all desert and shit country boy are they wrong !! I also know the feeling hiking outta the mountains without blood on your hands , I got my ass handed to me this year , highs and lows from heaven straight to hell from bad weather to ,stupid gear chooses , and just some plan ole rookie mistakes, I screwed up 2 chances and 2 bad ass bulls ! Very humbling year yo say the least , but as soon as one ends I'm always planning for the next one . The hunt never ends !!! Great job out there .

Back in the 90s I had a group sending bullets 20 ft over our heads. Sure makes a peculiar sound!! These guys shot 2 or 3, two points in a 3 point or better unit. We turned it in but all we had was a description, lol. Everyone was in orange and drove a 70 something Chevy!!

@@shedcrazyofficial I know you said there was shots, but I didn't think I heard you say that they had dropped one. It did look to me like there was an elk killed just on the other side of the ridge. I live in Northern Utah and I spend most of my time in Cache Valley. I am also in Box Elder Country once in a while. I think I have seen you around. Is that a possibility?

At 22:16 you can see elk legs roll up in the air after the shot with two bulls visible 1 rack and one full bull visible

I really enjoyed the video. This is the next adventure on my list. Question - are the rams dangerous? Meaning will they try to butt you? They certainly didnt seem too interested in giving you space. Sorry for what may be a stupid question.

As a lifelong NM resident, it would be great to draw a public land elk tag more than once every 4-5+ years. I met another NM resident who finally drew his first elk tag in 12 years this year. A lot of KZbinrs seem to do just fine getting NM tags - must be private land vouchers they're buying? This is almost certainly not a draw tag.
