Hey Nick. What do you think of the Straight Blast? Does it look like it could be effective in a self defense situation? Some good self defense instructors like Paul Vunak and Jason Hanson teach that but I feel skeptical about its effectiveness.

3:40 I wanna share my codex with you. I’ve shared it with a couple close industry friends. I don’t think they payed attention though. So for NICK DROSSOS fans, here it is. On a right handed guy don’t stand southpaw. Face in. Right hand in back on a right hander. 1. “Right hand” (THE STRONG FINGER JAB YOU WERE USING) STRIKE THROUGH THE WRIST 2. STRIKE OVER THE ELBOW “left hand” (moving left) twist slightly to the right while moving left. 3. VERTICAL FIST (right hand) from his blind side. His two arms are behind him now and he’s hit. ❤ That works on both sides both stances. The other way is to 1. USE THE STRONG FINGER JAB OVER THE WRIST OR THROUGH IT. 2. USE THE FRONT LEFT HAND TO FIRE A VERTICAL FIST RIGHT OVER THE TOP OF YOUR BUI GEE FINGER JAB that swept in next to his arm or just over the forearm bridge. Abandon the first strike once it reaches near the face. 3. USE IT AS A FIRING PLATFORM to shoot the vertical fist from SHORT RANGE. 1-2 FINGER/HAMMER. ❤

There is much more you can do but attacking the Throat , kneck also the back side of the kneck . knees / ankles would be always a good idea to stop the oponent . The bigger and heavier he might be the more difficult to keep Balance to him . in case when his legs ware damaged during the fight he will be not able to fight back so easy and fast like at the beginning of the battle . I would never using any kind of haymaker type of punches instead of this i would go for upercuts and generaly techniques which are not so good visible to the opponent ( i mean every technique using from below unlike the standard punches would be difficult to block ). But in case of this particular situation you can also grab his arm from below and pull your elbow towards the wall (the head of this oponent will follow the direction )after that you suppose to stay behind him so that you are able to stomp on his ankles kicking in the Knee section from the side would make them slower as well .

Love your videos Nick. I've learned so much from you content. I have a a question that has nothing to do with this particular video. If put in a defense situation I would use what you teach, however, put in a defense situation I can be a violent and I'm not scared to die. Is that an advantage or a disadvantage in a self defense situation?

That's a good way to end up in prison. Pulling a knife out and murdering someone in the middle of an unarmed altercation is illegal basically everywhere And a lot of the time, people don't even realize they've been stabbed until after the fights over

@@kaitosevski3881 I am talking about survival, not legal consequences. I am well aware of them I even give lectures on the subject. Where I live it is actually better to shoot than to use a knife. As for your observation,If anyone with decent knife training uses a blade, you will know about it, very quickly. I have been around the fighting arts world most of my life. Yes I have seen small guys best big guys. Always with incredible aggression and some fighting skills. I am talking about biting off a guys eyebrow and spitting it in the big guys face., etc. How many people are capable of doing that? If you are small, hit first, hit hard, get out. If you are under attack? Weapons are probably your only option to getting stomped.

@@kaitosevski3881 Just because your assailant is unarmed doesn't mean you can't pull out a weapon in self defense. There are a lot of variables that factor into any legal consequences. Every place has their own laws but in the U.S. I've heard of cases where an unarmed aggressor was killed or wounded by someone with a weapon (gun, knife, etc.) and was cleared of any wrong doing.
