Things are being done, however, with wild winds and serious gusts it means that all the planes/helicopter fire fighting are grounded. Wild winds mean sparks can travel for miles and then land and spark a new firestorm. So fires are sparking lots of places but thankfully being put out asap. And sometimes it's too dangerous for the fighters. You can't fly with winds over 35 miles an hour with gusts up to 70. Things have slowed today so hopefully they will be aloft soon.

This is in an area that has tens of millions of acres of dry brush on very steep slopes. Strong winds are limiting aerial flights. There's no shortage of water in this area... how do you propose firefighters get to remote steep slopes with tons of water, no airplanes, etc? Most golf courses are watered by treated wastewater these days.
