Hello Brian, I'm not a software developer, and have no plans on becoming one, but I enjoy your videos non-the-less. Outside of the excellent quality and style of the videos, you have pleasing personality and come across as being authentically who you are. I am drawn to that as much as content itself. Keep up the great work, and I wish you all the best in your career. You have a fan in me.

I'm happy to hear the content can be enjoyed in general! For that reason, I do sometimes wish to make more lifestyle-type vlogs in addition to tech content, but we'll see. How did you come across the channel?

Hey Brian, while I'm not a SWE, (way past my time for that) I am a PC and tech enthusiast. I run a GED program that helps young people who have dropped out school obtain their GED, and we also teach them how to build their own gaming PC, so I am drawn to tech related content. Came across your site browsing some of the Day in My Life videos and found yours to be one of the best for reasons previously mentioned. Keeps me inspired and I enjoy seeing young people make their mark on the world.@@brianruizy

Hi Brian, great video as always. For someone who is finishing up studying app development (currently on Android), who also uses Flutter and would like to pursue iOS development, would you recommend the MBAir M2 15' or the MBPro M2 14'? Also, do you think it's a good idea to pursue iOS development? Greetings from Spain.
@brianruizy
@brianruizy 6 ай бұрын
if you're finishing up studies and about to start getting into actual jobs, I would probably go for the Pro already. I haven't done mobile app development, but I don't see why iOS Dev would be bad. App Store isn't going anywhere, can maybe get into Vision Pro apps :)

Which programming language do you recommend learning first?
@jeedub6142
@jeedub6142 7 ай бұрын
Really depends on what you are intending to work on. But, here’s something I wish someone told me when I started: “Learning to code” has nothing to do with a language, and has everything to do with learning and understanding how to deal with a problem logically. The techniques from one language (loops, functions, if/then statements) are just written differently in different languages, but the fundamentals of HOW to deal with problems are actually the thing that you need to learn.
@brianruizy
@brianruizy 7 ай бұрын
Solid response. Fundementals in programming are key, because sooner or later you will probably learn more than just 1 language. But to provide an absolute answer, I would say Python & JavaScript are good starters. General purpose, big communities, and wide use for jobs. If you want a bigger challenge C++

Have you used other brand monitors, and can you refer me to the best monitor for eye health?
@brianruizy
@brianruizy 6 ай бұрын
I’ve tried a couple like LG too. For eye health it’s more about how you use the monitor I would say. Not using the peak brightness, using bias lighting, having it eye level. But not an expert, you should a little more research for that!

IT is different from SWE and CS. But yes, pretty good career and safe I would say, and pay can range, depending on where you live, but really well for the most part.

At our company, we have an office space where 5-7 of us share a room. Each of us has 1 desk, monitors and so on, but when it comes to having important calls or just having peace for your work when you're "in the zone" I think I'd prefer my own desk/space/corner where I can focus. But it's nice to chat in between tasks during the day, keeps up a good theme going in the office. Let us know what your team has decided and share your opinion if you feel comfortable.

At the moment no. I moved away to another city 1year ago, so currently I’m working 4 days per week remotely and 1 day I travel for 2hours to visit the team and work from the office.
